An evening for all Juniors of RVYC!

The Junior Executive is proud to announce a Junior Sailing Jeopardy + Lawn Camping event on Saturday evening, May 30th. We will meet in the Clubhouse at 6PM and move to the lawn area for games and tent set-up at 8PM. Please note that the camping portion of the evening will be supervised by two parent chaperones. While this event is open to junior members under 18, for those under 12, a parent must stay for the duration of the camping. Please bring your own tent and sleeping bag. Got any old games lying around your house or boat?
The Juniors are planning to host a Games Night soon, and we’d love to collect as many games as possible. If you have any board games, card games, or party games you no longer use, we’d greatly appreciate the donation! If interested, please email [email protected].

Watch the start of the Swiftsure Race from Clover Point as a community!

Clover Point is the best location to watch the race start from the shore at 9am. The Central Saanich Lions Club. will be serving a pancake breakfast from 8am including juice or coffee for $10 and there will be news crews documenting the start of the race, a live video broadcast, Swiftsure commentators, plus a chance to learn more about RVYC membership and stalls to browse!

Please try to arrange to arrive on foot, bicycle or public transit as vehicles may not access the Clover Point Loop. All ages welcome!

The boats will all be gone by 10.30am but the day doesn't have to end there - you can stop by the Club at 12pm for a large group tour taking place. Please email [email protected] to organize a tour or hear more about membership.

As we celebrate National Volunteer Week (April 19-25), we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible people who make our Club what it is.

This year, our Opening Day on April 25 proudly carries the theme *“The Year of the Volunteer”* and it couldn’t be more fitting. Behind every successful event, every warm welcome on the docks, and every memorable moment at the Club, there are volunteers giving their time, energy, and passion behind the scenes. Quite simply, we wouldn’t be anywhere without them.

It’s been an honour for our Commodore, Opening Day Committee and office staff to bring this year’s Opening Day together and dedicate it to the volunteers and their impact on our community.

We can’t wait to celebrate with the RVYC family this Saturday at the biggest event of the year - make sure to register on the Club Calendar and pre-purchase your 2026 Annual and Banquet meal tickets. And of course, don't forget to thank our wonderful volunteers working hard on the day. See you there!
