THE ALTAR WAS NEVER THE FINISH LINE.

Many of us walk down that aisle thinking that once we say "I do," the hardest part is over. We think the building is done.

But the truth is, beloved... the altar isn't the finish line. It's the starting block.

After 15 years of marriage, I can tell you that the most beautiful parts of the building happen long after the wedding cake is gone.

They happen in the quiet moments of forgiveness, the late-night hard conversations, and the daily choice to keep the code of unity.

If you are feeling tired in your journey tonight, remember: you aren't failing because it's hard.

You are building. And building well takes time.

Your foundation is stronger than you think.

Relate right. Marry right. Build right.

WE DON'T NEED MORE INFORMATION...

A few years ago, I came to realise something. Most people don't need more information about relationships.

Many of us already know what to do.

What we often need is a safe space to learn, grow, ask questions, listen to others and be reminded that we are not navigating life alone.

That's one of the reasons Singles and Marriage Fellowship was started.

Tomorrow, we will gather again for a time of learning, conversation, laughter and connection.

If you've been meaning to come, consider this your reminder 😊

Are some couples avoiding transparency in their conversations?

05/26/2026

THEY DOTTED EVERY 'I' AND CROSSED EVERY 'T' DURING COURTSHIP.

I know a man and a woman who dated for four years before getting married.

They did everything by the book. They asked the tough questions. Had difficult conversations. Left nothing unexposed

They felt so ready.

But after marriage, they slowly stopped having hard conversations.

They thought the work was finished at the altar..😊

And over time, from beneath, frustrations and unspoken issues between them became too heavy to ignore anymore.

Truth is, in marriage you never stop having hard conversations.

No matter how many hard conversations you have during courtship, there will always be a new uncomfortable conversation to have in marriage.

In marriage, hard conversations must become a lifestyle.

Because the harder conversations you are willing to have, the more connected you stay to your spouse's heart.

Relate right. Marry right. Build right.πŸ™

WE HAVE A CONFESSION TO MAKE.

There was a season in our marriage where being spirit-filled, praying, and serving simply wasn't enough to stop the heated arguments.

We were hitting a wall, and we realized that even emotional intelligence has its limits.

We needed a deeper code to crack the conflict...and we found it.😁

This Saturday, my husband and I are opening up that playbook for you.

A no-holds-barred conversation right here in Winnipeg: "When Emotional Intelligence Isn’t Enough."

Whether you are preparing for marriage or you have been building for decades, your seat is ready.

Let’s stop surviving and start building a legacy that actually lasts.

THERE IS A QUIET TRUTH ABOUT LASTING LOVE THAT SOMETIMES GETS DROWNED BY THE NOISE OF CHEMISTRY

We search for the spark, the attraction, the butterflies, and the instant connection.

But in my work with couples, I often find what Dr. Julie Gottman’s research confirms:
πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡

The real foundation of a marriage that works is fondness and admiration. Not just attraction.

I often tell my singles.....Pay attention to how a person treats others when they think no one is watching .

Because that is the blueprint for how they will eventually treat you.

I have seen couples who started with a fire and ended in ashes. And I have seen quiet connections build something truly beautiful and unbreakable.

Before you say "yes," you must ask yourself one honest question about admiration..not just attraction.

Do you actually respect who they are and what they stand for?πŸ€”

Join me in this season of preparation, single.

If you are building a marriage that lasts, let’s connect.

YOU ARE LOOKING FOR LOVE IN THE WRONG DIRECTION...

Most people fundamentally misunderstand love. They show up to every relationship asking the wrong questions:

"What am I going to get from this person?"

YOU CAN’T FIND THE RIGHT PERSON UNTIL YOU FIND THE MISSING PART OF YOURSELF.

Many who have walked through failed relationships soon discover one thing...there was a version of themselves that remained hidden.

Until you discover that yet-to-be-known part of who you are, you will continue to attract the same patterns and the wrong relationships.

You are not just looking for love; you are looking for the version of you that knows how to receive and nurture real love.

Do the inner work, beloved.😊😊
