Not only did I catch my first ever sunfish, but also in a lake where they are not documented, and to land four that were Manitoba master anglers (7+”)! First day back on the kayak making history with an ice rod 🙂

The Insta360 overheated and could not be revived that day ☀️ even the black rod handle got blistering hot. I never understood how long sleeves and pants could be comfortable until I tried UPF versions and they are all I wear outside now.

Spent the day smallmouth bass fishing with the CKAUTOFAB OFFROAD crew
📍Tulabi Falls, Nopiming
S tier seafood and my all-time favourites: dungeness crab and spot prawns. Finally back in Vancouver when they were in season and had a great time with friends. The rain spared us that day but the swells said you shall not pass (or stay)!

Adding some camping adventures to this page 🏕️ couldn’t get the 4Runner out ice fishing but it is all set for summer glamping. Hoping the weather also becomes more agreeable to bring the kayak out.

This 31” sturgeon came to say hello during an impromptu evening outing to catch some bait 😳 Thought it was a catfish until its majestic jump (of course out of the camera’s view). Caught on a Gamakatsu USA size 4 hook and half a worm!
