SYMPOSIUM SPOTLIGHT 🔦
Acute and Long-Term Prevention of Sports-Related Concussion
Concussion remains one of the most debated injuries in sport, with consequences that can extend well beyond the acute phase. How do we best protect athletes, both in the moment and over the long term?

This symposium brings together leading expertise to examine current strategies for preventing sports-related concussion, from immediate management to long-term risk reduction.

🎤 Speakers: Eva Ageberg & Niklas Marklund

SYMPOSIUM SPOTLIGHT 🔦

Beyond Tissue Healing: Pain, Psychology, and Return to Performance for Injured Athletes

Healed tissue doesn't always mean a ready athlete. Pain, psychological factors, and confidence all shape whether and how well an injured athlete returns to performance.

This symposium looks beyond the structural side of injury, exploring how pain and psychology influence rehabilitation and return to sport, and what clinicians can do to address them.

🎤 Speakers: Morten Høgh & Carsten Oldengaard

SYMPOSIUM SPOTLIGHT 🔦

Youth sport for longevity: Inclusive pathways to elite performance and long-term participation

Youth sports participation has never been higher, and neither has specialization and training load at a young age. So how do we support performance ambitions while safeguarding long-term health?

This symposium delivers an evidence-based overview of injury patterns and broader health considerations unique to the growing and maturing athlete, covering:
- How do injury patterns in youth differ from adults, and what does this mean for management?
- What role do growth-related conditions, RED-S, sleep, and mental well-being play in sustainable development?
- How can we better recognize risk factors early?
- How do we manage training load to balance performance and safe participation?

🎤 Speakers: Moa Jederström, Ida Lindman & Eric Post

SYMPOSIUM SPOTLIGHT 🔦

Ankle instability: From prevention to treatment

Ankle sprains are among the most common injuries across sports, with consequences ranging from short-term time loss to chronic instability and osteoarthritis of the ankle joint.

This symposium offers an evidence-based overview of current best practice in the prevention and management of ankle sprains, addressing key clinical questions:

🦶 How can we prevent the first injury — and subsequent reinjury?
🦶 What does the evidence say about current rehabilitation approaches?
🦶 Which patients benefit from surgery, and which procedure is most appropriate?
🦶 Can early surgical intervention prevent long-term osteoarthritis?

Don't miss this comprehensive session spanning acute injury management to long-term joint health
