One year ago today I ruptured my Achilles.

Looking back, it was one of the most challenging periods of my life.

Not just physically, but mentally too.

The truth is, my body still isn’t the same. I’ve had to make adjustments, rethink how I train, and learn to be patient with a process that I couldn’t rush.

There were days in a boot.
Days on crutches.
Days where all I could do was train around the injury and trust the process.

But if there’s one thing this experience taught me, it’s that progress doesn’t stop just because the path changes.

The injury took certain things away from me, but it also gave me perspective, patience, gratitude, and a deeper appreciation for what my body is capable of.

Fast forward 12 months and I’m back coaching, training, pushing sleds, and continuing to rebuild.

Not fully healed.

Not fully recovered.

But still moving forward.

Life happens for us, not to us.
