The challenge of stillness - passive poses can be deceptively difficult. Staying still in a somewhat unnatural position for the body is new. We mostly want to ‘fix’ and move until we find comfort.
But when we allow the weight of the body to soften and relax into the pose, we practice letting go and surrender.
Try it before bed 🛌 it helps to..
* De-stress - reducing tension in the shoulders and neck whilst calming the nervous system.
* Open the heart centre - improving our capacity to breath.
* Brings emotional balance - activating the throat chakra.

Fallen Flamingo 🦩 (or humble flamingo)
This strength and balance pose nicely stretches the spine, and develops strength and flexibility in the hamstrings, hip flexors, and knee-hips-ankle-wrists-elbows-shoulders joints with enough core and biceps-triceps strength.

Staying true to the authentic and traditional practices doesn’t mean that you can’t and shouldn’t practice the “more challenging poses” after all we this will still practice Dharana (concentration) and it’s still bringing the focus to the movement of the body 🧘♀️.
Some days our bodies may feel able to do more and some days maybe not, but that’s just realising where our mindset is at the moment, maybe our body needs more rest to restore and soon we can go back to the challenge 🥰.
The ocean doesn’t even have the same colour or the same movement each day 🌊 why should we ?
