I hate the commercialisation of protein more than most, and no, I don’t think we need a protein product for every meal.

But this is exactly why people get confused. Protein in general is a good thing!

One person’s opinion being broadcast loudly on a panel show, with no expert there to provide context or rebuttal, is a problem.

He’s wrong when he says we don’t have an issue with low protein intake. I see it daily.

And on vegetarians, he actually makes a point they can get protein in but that doesn’t automatically mean they’re getting an optimal balance of essential amino acids. The problem with vegetarians is that many don’t understand the education behind combining different plant protein sources to improve the overall amino acid profile.

Education is the key.

There wasn’t a single educational point in this clip. Just opinion.

And unfortunately, facts beat opinions.

TV bosses do better. Get an expert on the panel.

And I don’t mean a celebrity who happens to have an opinion. I mean an actual expert.

Struggle with split squats or lunges?

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with doing your single-leg work on a machine.

A single-leg leg press or hack squat can be a great way to bridge the gap between not being able to do them and eventually being able to.

Don’t force an exercise just because it’s ā€œfunctionalā€.

Find a way to train the movement, build strength, and progress from there.

Another coach once called me a ā€œfat coachā€ and told people not to listen to my nutrition advice because I hadn’t ā€œwalked the walk.ā€

The irony? I had.

I’d simply spent years prioritising strength and performance over aesthetics.

So I decided to prove a point.

50+lbs of fat lost. Still strong. Still training hard. Still living life.

I didn’t need to change my methods, I just needed to show I could do both.

Results > opinions. šŸ‘Š

Is being an unfit parent selfish?

Controversial opinion… but I think it can be.

I’m not saying every parent needs to be shredded, live in the gym or have a six-pack.

But being fit enough to play with your kids, run around with them, get on the floor, go on adventures and actually participate in their lives should matter.

You don’t need to be perfect.
You just need to try.

Because your kids don’t care about your physique.

They care that you’re there. ā¤ļø

Looking after your health isn’t selfish when someone else depends on you.

Social media is a highlight reel, not the full story.

Nobody posts the slow run.
The weight regain.
The failed lift.
The bad session.

They post the wins.

So stop comparing your real life to someone else’s best moments.

Progress isn’t linear. Keep showing up, keep improving and judge yourself against where you started, not someone else’s highlight reel.

Five weeks on plan and already almost 9lbs down.

She’s now the lightest she’s been in years… and there’s no sign of slowing down.

But here’s the important part šŸ‘‡

She’s not on ridiculously low calories.
She hasn’t cut out all the foods she enjoys.
There’s some flexibility built in.
And she’s even had a family weekend away during these five weeks.

Because the plan works with her life, not against it.

This is what happens when you coach the whole client, rather than obsessing over the end result.

You don’t need to live on chicken and broccoli, avoid social events and spend months starving yourself to make progress.

You need a plan that you can actually stick to.

If you want help finding a plan that works with your life, drop me a message or click the link in my bio.

Random workouts from social media and AI might feel like you’re being productive…

But if you’re constantly changing exercises, reps, sets and goals, you’re probably just busy, not progressing.

Training doesn’t need to be fancy.

It needs to be planned, progressive and specific to your goal.

Because doing a different ā€œoptimalā€ workout every week isn’t optimal. šŸ˜‚

Stop chasing workouts. Start chasing progress. šŸ’Ŗ
