Methlick CC - Gala Day 2025.
It went off very well, thanks to the weather being on our side. We had 4 visiting clubs, Ellon Gordon Cricket Club, Fraserburgh Cricket Club, Goblin Ha Cricket Club, and Inverurie Cricket Club, Portcullis Cricket Club had to cancel at the last moment.
The Methlick CC team players, from Left to right in one attached photo. P. Obank, MS Mekala, L. Crutchfield, M. Hordley, D. Low, F. Grant and AA Mohammed.
For the games, Methlick lost against Ellon, although won the second game against Goblins.
The final game was between Fraserburgh and Ellon. Fraserburgh pulled through to win the game and the (long-lost) trophy. Photographs attached.
The one main event of the Gala day, of course, was the Duck race, and this year, one of our club members, B. Anderson, decided to reorganise the event into 10 shorter distance races and use fewer ducks, and a final race. The youngsters thoroughly enjoyed the events along with their parents.
The winners in the final race were
T. Acton - First
L. Addison - Second
N. Cowie - Third
C. Gunn - Forth
Photos taken not as many in previous years, including missing several of the Cricket club Teams.
We wanted to mention our juniors, who played their matches at the beginning of Gala Day. I have included a few photos of the games played, a mixture of both hard and soft ball.
