Having come through the club and now with 7 years as a senior First XV player, Finlay has built up a wealth of experience and knows exactly what it means to represent Ellon on and off the pitch.

He has also been part of the wider leadership within the senior group, where his experience and commitment have seen him play an important role.

A player who represents exactly what it means to pull on an Ellon top, Finlay will bring that same commitment and experience to his role as Vice Captain this season.

Finlay Hagen has been part of Ellon Rugby Club for an incredible 16 years, including 6 years playing in the Ellon First XV.

Powerful, physical and uncompromising, Finlay is the kind of player who sets the tone on the field. He brings intensity, experience and a huge amount of passion to every game, and is never one to take a backward step.

His commitment and loyalty to Ellon speak for themselves, and his experience at First XV level makes him a hugely respected member of the squad.

This season, Finlay takes on the role of Vice-Captain, bringing that experience, presence and leadership to the team.

A player who represents exactly what it means to pull on an Ellon shirt and give everything for this club.

Now he gets to lead it. 👊🏻

This season, Kieran O’Brien takes on the responsibility of leading our First XV.

Kieran has been part of the Ellon Rugby family since 2001, starting in the junior section before progressing through youth rugby and eventually into the First XV, where he has now played for 11 years.

He knows what it means to pull on the Ellon shirt.

Kieran is a strong voice and a natural leader within the group. He isn’t afraid to speak up, set the tone or hold those around him to the standards expected of an Ellon player.

That leadership will be important as the First XV take on the challenge of Caledonia Division 1.

The squad has put together a strong pre-season, with excellent training numbers, plenty of hard work and a clear focus on being ready for the season ahead.

Now it’s time to take that work onto the pitch.

He’s one of us.
He knows what this shirt means.
Now he leads from the front.

Coming up at Ellon Rugby: 📢

It's the start of the men's league this weekend. A short trip down the road to Countesswells where our 1XV face Gordonians. Before that, why not check out the U18 as they host Highland at 1pm
On Sunday, you don't have to go far to see boys rugby, as U16 host Dunfermline and U14 & U13's host Aberdeen Grammar. U18 Girls head to the shadows of Murrayfield to play Murrayfield Wanderers.
