The 100m Club Championships made a real splash this weekend, with over 50 swimmers taking part in a fantastic day of racing. From our enthusiastic Learn to Compete squad through to our experienced Masters, the pool was full of determination, energy, and team spirit.
For many of our swimmers, it was their first taste of competition, and they rose to the challenge brilliantly. A number of swimmers managed to achieve personal bests (PBs), and there was even more to celebrate as new club records were set on the night – a true testament to the progress being made across the squads.
The event was kindly sponsored by local company One, Two, Trees, whose team were on hand to present medals to the swimmers. Their support made the day even more special for our athletes and their families.
With more external meets on the horizon, the club is excited to see what our talented young swimmers can go on to achieve.

This week it’s national volunteer week, and our wonderful swimming and water polo club could survive if it wasn’t for our volunteers.
All committee members, helpers, poolside helpers, officials, and everyone else you see involved with the club are all volunteers. We simply couldn’t do it without you all so a massive THANK YOU!!!!
If you want to get involved please drop us a note! It’s a fun, rewarding role.

ASWPC Girls Make a Splash with Two Dominant Wins in Hants Ladies League
Yesterday, the Andover Swimming and Water Polo Club (ASWPC) girls travelled to Wi******er for a double-header in the Hampshire Ladies League — and they didn’t disappoint.
Heading into the weekend with a strong win and a narrow loss already under their belts, the team were feeling confident — and rightly so. First up, they faced The Channel Islands. With dynamic, relentless offensive play and an impenetrable press defence, the girls stormed to a commanding 16-2 victory.
Their second fixture saw them take on Southampton University. Sticking to their tried-and-tested formula of fast, fluid attacking play and rock-solid teamwork at the back, the ASWPC girls quickly took control. With consistent scoring — five or six goals per quarter — they finished with an emphatic 21-2 win.
What makes these results all the more impressive is the age of the team. All the girls are just 14 to 16 years old, competing against far more experienced senior sides — and outplaying them in every department.
Special recognition goes to Scott, Head Coach of the Swim Team at Andover whose hard work has clearly paid off. The players’ fitness and swimming strength have proven to be key factors in their water polo success.
Huge congratulations to the team: Ellie (Captain), Abi, Jess, Meg, Kitty, Molly, Aimee, Lucy, and Alice — your club and community are proud!

Some of our swimmers have had the pleasure of watching the brilliant AP Race event this weekend. The races, the atmosphere, it’s certainly ignited some power and confidence into our young swimmers.
