7 SRAMcc members raced the last Gorrick spring xc race. The weather was perfect with little to no mud, such a difference from the horrendous last one! We had a 4th from Josh and a brilliant 2nd from Katy, roll on the Southern xc series soon to start.

SRAM raced the Gorrick Valentines xc race and it was a quality mudfest! The tight, twisty and technical course was great fun and had all the mud we longed for all CX season in one race, brilliant but an epic cleanup was required afterwards. Weโll be back in a few weeks for the next round.

The final round of the Wessex cx calendar in Crow delivered copious amounts of thick gloppy mud to test our leg power. Dan Webber did his first race in 20 years and SRAM achieved 4 podium of two seconds, a third and a fifth, an excellent haul of point. We now all eagerly await the final standings for individuals and team awards once the tables are updated.

SRAMcc co-hosted the Andover super X cx race, round 11 of the Wessex calendar. It was a challenging course with changing conditions from frozen ground to a slick mud on frozen ground combo all set on many off cambers and corners. The result was brilliant racing all round which attracted some of the largest fields of the season. A lot of work went in from our club volunteers over 4 days but we will be back next year to do it all again, the sheer number of people enjoying themselves is motivation enough! Hopefully see you all next time ๐๐

The Southern Region Championships cx race was a fair distance to go but definitely worth it as we were rewarded with a cracking course and sunshine. Viv smashed it with a 2nd place finish and the remaining 9 riders all finished well placed and happy in their respective races. We all did well to get over the highest hurdles we have ever seen, the staircase and all off camber banks. Great fun.

Round 9 of our cx calendar was at the Newbury Showground. It was another relatively dry course with a field of 13 SRAM riders across the races. Another 2 podiums for the ladies and a great days racing again.

Round 8 of our cx calendar took us to a rather chilly Swindon sports centre. The course was slippy and very bumpy with some punchy short climbs to empty our legs. Another 3 podiums this weekend and now a weekend off, the first one for 8 weeks!

This ride will be on quiet lanes, suitable for any roadworthy bike. The average speed will be that of the slowest rider.
Riders would need to bring a helmet. You must ride at your own risk.

Round 7 of the Wessex cx series and it was a wet affair but it didnโt dampen our spirits. With some serious hills and slippery off camber hairpin turns to test us we came home happy, muddy and collected 4 podiums too! Happy days.

Sunday saw round 3 in a new series for the club. The SRAMcc Winter Reliability Series.
December was always going to be a tough one. Christmas parties, the lurgy, hangovers - all in plentiful supply. Although we were missing some of the usual faces due to illness, we had a great turnout, with 16 riders rolling out.
Increased numbers allowed us to split into two groups, which worked well for everyone.
Well done everyone, those long winter miles are hard, but satisfying. Good to see everyone smiling through mud splattered faces!
Round 4 is on January 12th. If youโd like to join, see here for details sramcc.com/wrs2425
