That was a mad and very difficult game to describe. Some periods of the game we were awful and some we were absolutely amazing. 3 points is what it’s all about at the end of the day. Robbie gave us the lead with a great volley finish from a long ball from Ben. We allowed red star back in to the game through a corner. 1-1 h/t.

The second half began with us on the front foot but we couldn’t find the goal our dominance deserved. We were dealt a blow when Caolan got a second yellow for a bad tackle. This seemed to spur us on and with the game still tied up popped that man again Robbie with a wonder strike 2-1 us. We continued on the front foot and big Walshy got us a 3rd and a goal his second half display deserved. In all honesty red star failed to create much the whole game. The only way we could have lost is by beating ourselves. Well done men loads of solid performances too many to mention but MOTM Robbie unbelievable lad 💪🟢⚪️🟢⚪️

FULL TIME: Armagh Celtic 3 - 2 Caledon Rovers 🟢⚪️

A hard-fought, brilliant victory for the boys today! 💥
We got off to a flying start in the first half when Caolan McGinley drove a precise low shot into the bottom corner to give us the lead. Caledon managed to pull back on level terms via an unfortunate own goal, but the lads kept pressing. Our persistence paid off before the break when Aidy met a corner with a bullet header to restore our lead.

Half Time: Armagh Celtic 2 - 1 Caledon Rovers

Knowing the next goal would be crucial, Robbie came up big in the second half, creating space with some great individual work before slotting home our third. We had opportunities to put the game out of reach, but Caledon capitalised on a late mistake to make it 3-2 and set up a tense finish.
With tired legs in the closing stages, the back line stood tall, led brilliantly by Colum and Pearse. Caledon had one final chance to steal a point, but Ben produced a brave, match-winning save to secure the win ! 🧤⛔️

Top Performers: Colum McGrail, Pearse Donaghy, Caolan McGinley, Robbie McQuaid, and Aidy Trainor.

What a way to start the 2026/27 season! 💪

A fantastic team performance from the lads today, with the attitude, effort and work rate on show from the first whistle to the last absolutely outstanding.

Robbie grabbed himself a brace, with his second goal an absolute thunderbolt of a strike! 🚀

It was also brilliant to see McGerrigan back on the Armagh Celtic scoresheet, while Caolan McGinley finally got the goal his effort and all-round performance deserved. 👏

Some top individual performances throughout the team, particularly from Robbie, Caolan and Ryan , with some excellent cameos from the lads coming off the bench too. 👊
