Taking picturesque running to the limit ๐ Armagh A.C.'s Alan Stretton knows that the best way to keep running is to enjoy your surroundings! โฐ๏ธ
Alan came an amazing 17th in the Men's Open Trail 52k European Off-Road Running Championships in Ljubljana-Kamnik, Slovenia at the beginning of June! ๐๐ฅณ๐
These tough trail races brought together Europeโs top mountain and trail runners in one of Central Europeโs most picturesque and challenging landscapes.
Alan hasn't stopped using his fitness and skills to explore the world and was recently also training in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc in the French Alps in glorious summer weather. If these photos don't make you want to take up mountain running, trail running or ultra running, we don't know what will! ๐คฉ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ๐ธ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ซ๐๐จ๐ญ Well done Alan! ๐๐
๐ช๐บThe European Championships were jointly organised by the Athletic Federation of Slovenia, the city of Kamnik and the Mountain Running Club Papeลพ.

โฐ๏ธThursday night Loughshannagh Hill & Dale!โฐ๏ธ
This was a tough, technical course of 4 peaks, a lot of climbing, soggy ground, deep pools, and a big river crossing up to the hips! ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ๐ง๐
There were a number of falls from runners on the route, but the weather turned out very clear and dry so there was no compass navigation required & everyone ran brilliantly on what many believe to be the hardest course. ๐งญ๐บ.
Well done to the men from Armagh! Keith Johnston, Lorcan Vallely, Cillian Reid, Gareth Kelly and Keith McAree on another great race!
๐ธThank you to Richard Cowan for the fab action shots!

Armagh A.C. is a registered charity & the only athletics club in the city. There has been an athletics club in Armagh since 1890, & the current club dates back to 1933, yet there have never been dedicated athletics facilities for the people of Armagh - no track, no club-house. However our Junior athletes train hard each week & have achieved success across the county, province and island, competing at events in both track & field. Let's help them continue! ๐
We'd love to see you & appreciate your support, so please keep it in your diary & we'll see you there!
