Adderbury BOWLS CLUB

Unfortunately, due to lack of interest, this weekend's Horse Racing night has been cancelled. Apologies to all that were looking forward to this event.

Due to the increasing temperatures we're currently having, we have decided to install a pool in place of rink 5 at the club to help players cool off. This will also please a lot of bowlers who could never quite find the line out there!

As always, the season gets very congested so please try and get these games in as soon as you can to avoid a backlog.

Next Friday sees the return of our ever popular bingo night, so if you haven't already got your tickets you'd better get a move on before we sell out!!

Have you ever thought about having a go at bowls but didn't know where to start? We have an open day on Sunday 26th April for anyone to come along and give it a go.

All you need is a pair of flat shoes/trainers and an open mind and we will show you all you need to know. The bar will be open and with any luck the sun will be shining.

So don't be shy, give bowls a try!!

We have a couple of events coming up at the club. Firstly is our usual cash bingo night on the 24th April. It's always a great night with a chance to win some good money!

We then have a horse race night coming up next month on the 30th May. The last time we did this it was an incredibly popular and fun night for all involved, so come along and see if you can pick a winner!

Well we may not have the weather, but we still plan to open the green this afternoon. So dust down those bowls and come along for a roll up and maybe a beer or two!

The weekend is almost here, and we plan to open the green on Sunday for you all to bowl on. However, we still have quite a lot of work to do before this can happen, so if you have an hour or two to spare tomorrow morning to make sure we're ready to go we would be very grateful.

The list of jobs are:

Rolling & cutting green
Move outside furniture back under new canopy
New outdoor tables to assemble
Ditch mats & markers in place
Mowing lawns
Cleaning windows in canopy
Replace light bulbs along path lights
Weeding surrounding areas
Changing rooms tidy out.

As you can see there is a fair amount to do, but the more help we can get the quicker it will all be done.

We have another tidy up morning at the bowls club today. There is some painting to be done and some new outdoor tables to put together, as well and some general cleaning up ahead of the new season next week, so if you can spare an hour or two to help us out we would be very grateful.
