Welcome to Portmore Golf Park & TOPTRACER Range set in the heart of North Devon on the outskirts of Barnstaple within 1 mile of the A361.

27 holes consisting of the 9 hole Landkey par 3 course and Barum 18 hole course. Whether you wish to become a member or pay and play on the day all visitors are welcome. The dress code for the Landkey course is smart casual and more traditional for the Barum course. We have a 21 bay TOPTRACER golf range, floodlit and fully undercover, using 'proper golf balls' with viewing area and seating for the family, a 'proper' putting and chipping green, selection of golfing accessories, and trolley hire facilities, professional lessons, restaurant and bar. We are a family run business where quality and service is our main objective. Our aim is to provide a centre for all golfing abilities. Vouchers are available from reception for food & drink as well as the golf courses and are ideal as a gift for friends and family. We also stock vouchers for our professional Dan should you wish to buy lessons for a present.

🌱 THANK A GREENKEEPER ⛳️

This one means a little more to us this year.

It’s difficult to put into a few words just how much our greenkeeping team have dealt with over the last 12 months.

After a winter of relentless rain and washouts, we went almost straight into the driest summer on record. At the same time, we were trying to construct and grow-in a brand-new golf course, while continuing to maintain and present the rest of Portmore.

There has been an unbelievable amount of watering. Seeding, re-seeding… and then seeding again. Areas that were washed away, rebuilt and washed away again. Long days, early mornings, setbacks, problem solving and plenty of moments where it would have been very easy to become disheartened.

But they kept going.

Getting The Loop open this year was a huge achievement in itself. Behind what golfers eventually see is an enormous amount of work that most people will never know happened.

And throughout all of that, there was still another golf course to look after, greens to maintain.

Golf courses don’t look after themselves. They are built and maintained by people who genuinely care about what they do.

So today we just want to say a massive thank you to our greenkeeping team at Portmore.

For the early starts, the long hours, the frustration, the perseverance and, above everything else, the resilience.

We couldn’t be prouder of what you’ve achieved this year.

What a fantastic weekend we’ve had at the club! We’ve been exceptionally busy, and it’s brilliant to see the clubhouse buzzing 👏

Tomorrow, Bank Holiday Monday, we’ll be closing slightly earlier at 6pm.

Well, we’ve spent the last few months desperate for rain… safe to say we’ve got it now 😂🌧️

Absolutely chucking it down today and it looks like there’s plenty more on the way over the next few days.

The range is busy though! Nice to see everyone making the most of the covered bays and getting some practice in while the weather does its thing.

If you’re stuck for something to do in the rain, come and hit some balls ⛳️

🏃‍♂️💨 And he’s off…

It’s funny how people sometimes don’t think of sneaking onto a golf course without paying as stealing.

You probably wouldn’t walk into a shop, take something and leave without paying… a round of golf isn’t really any different! ⛳️

Anyway… onto tonight’s entertainment.

Tonight we spotted a gentleman out playing at Portmore who hadn’t paid.

When approached, he confidently explained that he was a member and gave us his name — “Simmons… with a Y.”

No problem… we’ll just pop inside and check the membership list.

Apparently, this was the exact moment “Mr Simmons” remembered he had somewhere VERY important to be. 😂

Cue a sprint off the golf course, followed by a rather enthusiastic getaway in the car. 🏃‍♂️💨🚗💨
