Bitton Archers

28/09/2026

The end of the beginning. The weekend saw the last sessions of our latest beginners' course meaning our newest Bitton archers are now ArcheryGB recognised. The day concluded with a little competition and the instructor had to make the difficult decision of declaring if the 4th pic is an 8 or a 9. What do you think?

A couple of pics from Sunday's club Flint round competiton which took place after the beginner's course and before the AGM.
The Flint is a field archery round meaning everyone you see here shot at 6 different distances: 30, 25, 20, 15 and 10 yards plus a target at 20 feet with 4 arrows per end.

Sessions number 3 and 4 of the current ongoing beginners course down at Stothert & Pitt RFC this past weekend.
It included more band work to improve posture, the introduction of sights and scoring and competition etiquette.
Everyone also managed to get a try of the compound and longbow!

A more than productive weekend for Bitton Archers (and extra help from the very kind Alex, one of our archer's - Oliver - friends) as we prepared the new site and pathway for our second container at Stothert & Pitt.

Thanks very much to all those who volunteered to help out!!!
