Hi, my name is Georgina Bassford and I teach yoga classes and workshops in Bath.

I teach a variety of day and evening yoga classes in Bath including Slow Hatha Flow, Move.Relax.Restore, Yang-Yin, Restorative Yin, Pregnancy and Postnatal Mother & Baby Yoga classes as well as Womb to World Essential Birth Preparation for couples. I occasionally teach weekend workshops and Saturday classes and have a portfolio of regular and one-off private clients.

Bit late but just to say no classes this week for half term - so no Pregnancy Yoga or Days End Yoga this evening.

Classes back on as usual from Monday 1st June

We swerved a week of hot yoga!! 🥵

Grounding - bare foot / hands in the soil
Restorative yoga practices
Slowing down in general
Prioritising joy

These are all good things. It’s not just one thing you need, it’s many, and all together it will point you in the direction of better health and well-being.

My next Restorative Yoga & Yoga Nidra class is Saturday 11th July 2-3:30pm. I know, ages away. But I only teach these every two months (I’m prioritising my family life you see!)

⭐️I’ve just finished working on the content and format of my Monday night special juicey fabulous class for peri and post menopause women.

💙I asked my husband to read it through for me and he dutifully has done so and said it made him decide to do a yoga practice after work tonight rather than reach straight for the glass of wine 😆

Time for the wine later!

So he’s doing his yoga now while I write this.

⭐️Restorative Yoga class in Bath this Saturday!

💙Saturday 9th May 2-3:30pm is my next Feel Good Restorative Yoga & Yoga Nidra class💙

⭐️Unusually at this time, there are still plenty of spaces available so have a think and snap one up.

⭐️Cheaper than a massage and just as (or more?) relaxing!

⭐️No experience of restorative yoga or any yoga necessary :-) Just a desire (a need?) to lay down your worries for a while and relax.

⭐️Classes are at the Bath Methodist Church at Weston (top of Chelsea Road) and are £16 which includes herbal tea and a homemade energy ball 😋 and all yoga kit (including bolsters and eye pillows).

Just a reminder that there is no Postnatal Yoga class tomorrow as it’s a Bank Holiday.

Some of you already have done this but if not, do let me know if you’d like to come to the Wednesday class instead (same time 11-12:30pm)

CLASS VISIT LAST NIGHT
⭐️💙⭐️

For the last few minutes of Thursday night’s Pregnancy Yoga class, while they enjoyed that Nigella biscuit (!) we were joined by Ellie.

Ellie is a doula and coach and talked about the positive impacts of working with a doula during your pregnancy, birth and postpartum.

A doula works solely for you, providing 1-2-1 continuity and care throughout your transformational journey to motherhood.

She shared a little about the role of a doula, the impact they can have and what it’s like to work with one.

🚶 An evening walk to Kelston Roundhill last night with a friend - with a picnic dinner at the top.

☀️ Bonkers how warm and still it was on one side of the hill and just round the corner it was blowing a hooley and properly chilly!

☯️ I was thinking of these words from my yin yoga teacher who wrote this recently

“consciously encouraging feelings of appreciation and gratitude can help us to be more at ease and more content.”

He was referring to the allowing of space in a yin yoga practice to allow such feelings to arise. But we also can foster these feelings deliberately and consciously in many moments throughout our days.

And I really did last night. This is enough.

💪 Staying active is super protective for your kind and body - and babies - in pregnancy. So get yourself to that pool and may I also suggest, to a Pregnancy Yoga class 😉

There are many good classes in Bath. Mine have been running for a lo-o-ong time. I think the first mums in my class now have children doing their A levels 😆

Pregnancy Yoga classes are Wednesdays 7:30-90pm and Thursdays 6-7:30pm

No yoga experience is necessary - and be prepared to get a good nights sleep after class 💤
