Your fitness isn’t just about looking good with your shirt off.⁣

It’s a performance asset.⁣

More energy.⁣

Better focus.⁣

Greater resilience.⁣

More confidence.⁣

Better physical presence.⁣

And potentially more capacity to perform at work, provide for your family and actually enjoy the life you’re working so hard to build.⁣

Because here’s the uncomfortable truth:⁣

You can be incredibly successful professionally while simultaneously running your body into the ground.⁣

But eventually the bill arrives.⁣

And your kids don’t care about your job title.⁣

They care whether Dad has the energy to play.⁣

Whether you’re present.⁣

Whether you can get on the floor without making the noise of a 1970s tractor.⁣

Your health isn’t something you deal with after you’ve made it.⁣

It’s part of how you make it.⁣

Train like your future depends on it.⁣

Because it does.⁣

Save this and send it to the bloke who thinks being exhausted is just part of being successful.⁣

Would you let AI raise your kids?⁣

Probably fu***ng not.⁣

So why are we happy letting it make every decision for us?⁣

Workout programme? Ask AI.⁣
Meal plan? Ask AI.⁣
Training plateau? Ask AI.⁣

Life throws a curveball?⁣

“Hang on… let me ask the robot.”⁣

AI is brilliant. I use it myself.⁣

But there’s a difference between using a tool and outsourcing your ability to think.⁣

A good coach shouldn’t make you dependent on them.⁣

They should teach you to recognise problems, adapt when life goes sideways, and make good decisions without them.⁣

Because I don’t want my children growing up believing every decision needs approval from the artificial intelligence in their pocket.⁣

Use AI.⁣

Just don’t let it replace your fu***ng brain.⁣

Follow for fitness advice that teaches you how to think — not just what to do.⁣

The reason most diets fail isn’t because you love chocolate.⁣

It’s because nobody likes being told “No.”⁣

Not even you.⁣

The moment your diet becomes a list of rules and restrictions, your inner toddler starts planning a rebellion.⁣

Instead of saying:⁣
❌ “I can’t eat that.”⁣

Try saying:⁣
✅ “I can… but I’m choosing not to because my goals matter more.”⁣

Same choice.⁣

Completely different mindset.⁣

You’re not lacking willpower.⁣

You’re simply wired to resist being controlled—even by yourself.⁣

Start making choices instead of following rules.⁣

Fat loss gets a whole lot easier.⁣

👇 Have you ever caught your inner toddler throwing a tantrum over a diet?⁣

𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗣 𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗦𝗘𝗟𝗙 𝗔 𝗙𝗔𝗜𝗟𝗨𝗥𝗘 𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗕𝗘𝗖𝗔𝗨𝗦𝗘 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗛𝗔𝗩𝗘𝗡’𝗧 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗙𝗨𝗖𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗦𝗛 𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗘.⁣

This workout?⁣

By my original target, it was an absolute shambles.⁣

I wanted banded bar muscle-ups.⁣

Did I get one?⁣

😂 Absolutely fu***ng not.⁣

I wasn’t even remotely close.⁣

But here’s the bit that matters…⁣

Six months ago, I couldn’t have done 𝟯𝟬 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘁-𝘁𝗼-𝗯𝗮𝗿𝘀.⁣

Today?⁣

Different story. ⁣

Are they perfect?⁣

No.⁣

Is there loads of room for improvement?⁣

Absolutely.⁣

But six months ago, I couldn’t do what I just did.⁣

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀.⁣

And this is where a lot of 40+ dads completely f**k up their own heads.⁣

You keep staring at the thing you 𝗖𝗔𝗡’𝗧 𝗗𝗢 𝗬𝗘𝗧.⁣

The weight you haven’t lifted.⁣

The body you haven’t built.⁣

The fitness you haven’t regained.⁣

The fu***ng six-pack that apparently requires you to stop eating like a functioning member of society.⁣

And because you’re not there yet, you convince yourself you’re failing.⁣

𝗕𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘀𝗵𝗶𝘁.⁣

Stop measuring progress from where you are to where you want to be.⁣

Measure it from 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘄.⁣

Because when you look backwards, you see what you’ve built.⁣

When you only look forwards, you see everything you haven’t achieved.⁣

And that’s how people quit while they’re actually making progress.⁣

So look back.⁣

Recognise the distance.⁣

Then get back to work.⁣

𝗬𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸.

Volume isn’t the variable the matters most for busy dad’s. Consistency and recovery are. 3 quality session will almost always beat 5 mediocre ones. ⁣

Meal prep culture was invented by people with more time than you. These rules work at a restaurant, motorway services and most importantly your daughter’s birthday. Save them, and use them. ⁣

Working on those weaknesses

17/07/2026

Nobody hands you a manual when you hit 40.⁣

One day you’re following the same training plan you’ve always done, wondering why the weight isn’t moving, your joints ache for three days after leg day, and your energy disappears somewhere between the school run and your second coffee.⁣

The advice you usually get?⁣

“Train harder.”⁣

That’s about as useful as telling a dad with three kids to “just get more sleep.”⁣

Here’s what I wish someone had told me.⁣

Recovery isn’t a luxury anymore—it’s part of the programme. The session itself is only the stimulus. You get stronger when you recover from it.⁣

Sleep isn’t something you earn after you’ve finished everything else. It’s one of the biggest performance enhancers available, and unlike another supplement, it’s actually backed by decades of evidence.⁣

Your hormones don’t exist in isolation. Testosterone and stress are constantly pulling against each other. Chronic stress, poor sleep and trying to survive on caffeine and willpower all make it harder to build muscle, lose fat and recover well. It’s not an excuse. It’s physiology.⁣

And yes, progressive overload still works. It always will. But chasing personal bests every week isn’t the badge of honour it used to be. Sometimes progression is adding one rep. Sometimes it’s improving technique. Sometimes it’s walking away feeling like you could have done one more set instead of crawling to the car park.⁣

I learned this the hard way.⁣

I trained harder at 38 than I ever did at 28.⁣

More volume. More sessions. More intensity.⁣

And I got worse results.⁣

Not because I stopped working hard.⁣

Because I was still trying to train like the younger version of me instead of coaching the man I’d become.⁣

Everything changed when I accepted that smarter beats harder.⁣

That’s now the foundation of every programme I write for busy dads.⁣

If you’re somewhere between 38 and 50 and feeling frustrated because what used to work doesn’t anymore...⁣

Your frustration is valid.⁣

But it’s also fixable.⁣

💾 Save this for the next time you think the answer is simply to train harder.⁣
