⚽ Match Report: Crusaders vs Denaby ⚽

A strong team performance from the boys today. Denaby opened the scoring in the first quarter after Crusaders had created several opportunities but were unable to find the back of the net!

The team responded positively, continued to work hard and were eventually rewarded with a bullet of a goal from James.

From that point, the boys settled into the match well. They moved the ball effectively, communicated well and showed excellent organisation on the pitch.

Oscar scored the next goal, followed by another from James, before Teddy and Luke also found the back of the net. 👏⚽️

Well done to Oscar for getting this weeks Liberty Group MOTM. Got stuck in all over the field, winning the ball back and getting us driving forward, great feet dribbling and beating a man and a superb finish for his well deserved goal.

Most importantly, it was fantastic to see the boys enjoying their football, playing with confidence and maintaining positive attitudes throughout the match with a big smile on their faces!

⚽ Match Report ⚽️

Sprotbrough & Cusworth Crusaders U10s Saturday team kicked off their campaign against Askern in what proved to be a fantastic game of grassroots football.

It was an entertaining, end-to-end contest, with both sides evenly matched and plenty of great football on show. There was some lovely attacking play, excellent skills and pinpoint passing, while both defences and goalkeepers played their part in keeping the opposition at bay.

Goals from Teddy and Luke, saw us take the lead on two occasions, only for a strong Askern attack to peg us back each time.

Today's Castle Carpets & Flooring M.O.T.M was awarded to Rory. Playing a key role in keeping the Askern attack out with some composed defending and important challenges and then great passing out to get us on the attack. Almost scoring a great goal from distance as well with a wonder strike from bear half way.

A thoroughly entertaining game for the players, fans and coaches — a great advert for local grassroots football! 👏⚽

Under 11's Reds claimed their first ever official point against Bawtry U12's in an 8 goal thriller.

Goals from Buddy and Cohan had the lads well placed to to take the spoils, but a mad 20 minutes saw the visitors from DN10 score 4 goals to seemingly take the game.

The boys showed incredible spirit and resolve at clawed their way back in with another goal from Buddy on his debut and a last minute cross-come-shot from Hunter nestled into the far corner to share the points.

Under 8 Green’s continued their good start to the season with a confident performance against Dearne and District. Crusaders started the match strong with a fantastic team goal that set the tone for the match!

The Goals continued to flow throughout with strong performances across the team. Was great to see the team passing the ball around and scoring some great goals.

Player of the match went to Max for his all round performance putting in some strong tackles and working hard to support in both attack and defence.

The kids were fantastic today against Brierley.
We have been working in training on passing and work rate, and they showed it today!
The coaches were really pleased to see the work rate, even after we scored a few goals, they didn’t stop.

Hard luck to the lads today, they gave a fine performance and just pipped by a single goal. With chances at both ends and us pushing for the equaliser but not quite getting it over the line. We were unlucky to not at least draw level. That being said very happy with all the lads today and despite the result they put the effort in and we can’t ask for more than that!

A great game for the U9 girls yday.

Kept on trying to do the right things and making good decisions. Special shout out to those who went in goal throughout the game. A lot better at getting the ball back when we lost it today too.

Their GK was excellent and I’m sure it would have been double figures if it wasn’t for her.
