⚽️ Scorps U18s Girls Away at Pogmoor AFC
Full Time: Pogmoor AFC 1–1 Scorps 🦂
The girls were back in action this morning, although getting everyone there was nearly a match in itself! ✈️😂
A few of the girls had only just landed back from international duty a couple of hours before kick-off because apparently arriving home from another country and playing football shortly afterwards is completely normal! 🌍⚽️
A couple of last-minute illnesses also meant we were missing a few players, but the Scorps rolled up regardless and got stuck in.
Pogmoor, at full strength, started brightly and took an early lead. The girls battled away but couldn’t find the equaliser before half-time.
HT: Pogmoor 1–0 Scorps
After the break, the girls changed ends and, judging by the angle of the pitch, appeared now to be kicking down from Mount Everest. 🏔️😂
But rather than complain about the altitude in the first half, they just got on with it.
The pressure started to build, and eventually the girls got the reward they deserved. A brilliant assist from Ebs found Bella, who produced a fine strike to bring the Scorps level.
1–1! 🦂🔥
With Pogmoor now firmly penned in, the girls pushed and pushed looking for the winner, but unfortunately it just wouldn’t come.
The final whistle went and the girls came off the pitch happy, as always, to be battling it out in adult pathway football. 💪
A few kicks, a few bruises, probably a few complaints about the mountain they’d just climbed 😂 — but nothing that a quick dusting off and pulling the orange Scorps socks back up can’t sort!
Another great battle, another valuable experience, and another game where the girls showed plenty of fight, character and togetherness. 🧡🦂

Well played girls — recover, regroup and we go again! 🧡🦂⚽️
