🎣 Karl’s Rockery Session 🎣

Karl fished the Rockery for a 72-hour session, and after his good friend Daryl started catching from the off in the Dump Swim, it was a slow start for Karl.

But patience paid off and using some of the Atomic Tackle pre Tidez PVA rigs, three fish showed up within an hour and the Rockery finally came alive. The swim even continued to produce fish after Karl’s session, with the lads going in after him carrying on the run.

It’s a shame there weren’t more fish on the bank, but with the biggest going 29lb in the shape of the Mungo Fish, along with two other stunning high 20s, it was certainly worth the wait. 💪🎣

Karl then packed up and drove straight to France for another fishing trip, so he left us with his confidence high! 🇫🇷🎣

Hope you’ve done well, mate — fingers crossed for a few more big ones!

Great to see you, Karl, and great angling as always. 👊

📸 6 YEARS AGO TODAY…

Six years ago, in 2020, one of the biggest landscaping projects we’d ever taken on at Up on Grange got underway. 💪

The shallow bay from the Dump Swim was about to be completely transformed, with the plan being to backfill the bay and create access all the way around the lake.

What followed was two days of absolutely brutal landscaping — shifting an enormous amount of material, reshaping the bank and turning what was essentially an inaccessible section into a proper route around the lake.

Looking back at these photos now, it’s easy to forget just how massive a job this actually was. It wasn’t a little bit of landscaping and a tidy-up… it was a full-on transformation of a huge section of the lake.

And honestly, looking at it now, I’m not sure I’d have the head, energy or stupidity required to do it all again! 😂😂

But it was worth every bit of sweat, mud and hard graft. Looking at what that area became — and what the lake has developed into since — makes you realise just how much work has gone into getting Up on Grange to where it is today.

Six years on and the transformation is pretty incredible. 🎣💪

Fantastic session in pegs1&2 for these two gentleman. Extremely hot weather in the day made the fishing difficult by day, but by night they did themselves proud catching some awesome 20+lbers
Well done chaps

A lovely little 24 hour session for Sam Bridgman and his old school teacher and now good pal Geoff. Having blanked on a previous trip Sam was determined to help Geoff catch one. Nothing to report during the night so a morning trip to the mangrove and an hour later, he was away. Smile says it all. first fish from a new water gives off that stench of sweet success.
Sam had one from peg 7 also. Atomic Tackle exclusively used for the lads end tackle on slip D rigs and Stephen Slater reaper nut as their baiting approach.

🎣 A great few days up on Grange! 🎣

Well done to Nigel, Jon and Michael on a recent trip up on Grange.

Jon Peck got things moving with 4 fish up to the mid-20s from oeg 2, and check the shoulders out on the fish in the first picture 💪!! while Nigel Long had to wait right until the last morning in peg 1 before finally getting amongst them — and what a fish to finish on! The Camel Common at bang on 30lbs. 👌🎯

A massive well done to Michael too, with a mega common from the Mangrove, and even better, it was his first time using our PPG boilie! 🍑🧄🎣

Sorry about the photo mate — it’s unfortunately in the wrong format for Instagram, and I’ve no idea how to fix it! 😂

Nicely done, Chaps! 👊

🎣 Keith’s session in the Dump Swim! 🎣

Using our own PPG house boilie and pellet, with Krill wafters as the hook bait, Keith put together a cracking session! 🔥

The highlight was the return of Ghostie, a fish that hasn’t seen the bank for some time, coming in at a very respectable summer weight of 28lb. Alongside that, Keith added a 24lb, 20lb and 18lb to round off a mega session! 💪🎣

Mega results, mate — and it’s brilliant to see you catching from every swim you fish! 👌

Well done 👏🎣

🎣😊 What a session for Nick and his stepson! 😊🎣

The smiles say it all! 🤩 Nick’s stepson smashed his mirror and common carp PB and Nick also landed his first-ever common carp—a session he’ll never forget! 👏🐟

After a few blank sessions in Peg 6, it was brilliant to finally see them get the rewards they deserved. Patience paid off! 💪

The fish came to a selection of our 🍑 PPG 🧄 boilies and pellets from the shop, showing just how effective they can be.

It was also great to see our good friend Liam on hand, helping with the rods and offering a few playing tips while Nick captured the special moments on camera. 🎥👌

That’s exactly what Up on Grange is all about—making memories, learning together and celebrating every capture, whether it’s your first fish or a new PB. ✌️🎣💚

Congratulations, lads! 👏🐟

🍳 Opportunity at Ted Whiteman Waters 🍔

As many of you know, Liz has made the decision to step away from running Lakeside Brunches.

It’s been a huge part of the fishery over the years, and we’d like to say a massive thank you to her for all the early mornings, late evenings and the countless breakfasts and dinners she’s served to our anglers. ❤️

Rather than see the food service disappear altogether, I’m putting the feelers out to see if there’s anyone who would be interested in taking it over.

We have a converted catering trailer already set up with equipment, an established customer base, and exclusive catering rights for the fishery. With just 12 swims, it’s a manageable operation and a great opportunity for someone looking to run a small catering business in a beautiful lakeside setting.

At the moment, I’m simply looking to gauge interest before making any decisions, as I’d much rather see the service continue than disappear if we can find the right person.

If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, or you know someone who might be, please send me a message and we can have a chat.

Please feel free to share this post—it might just reach the perfect person.

Thank you all for your continued support. ❤️

🍑 PPG 🧄 doing the bites once again up on Grange. Massive well done to Ethan Taylor and bartekk_126 on their recent session Up on Grange. They chose to double up on the beach swim, producing two bites early morning for Bartek. Leaving plenty of time, They made a move to the day swim for the remainder of their session producing a fish for both Ethan and Bartek. What’s better is they were both PB smashing fish. Nice one lads
