There’s more to braking than anti-rise.
Marra’s suspension has to be ridden to be believed, or it’s all just words and pictures. And you've not ridden it yet, so here's some words and pictures:
Is anti-rise, at most, only the 5th most important thing?
1. Forward weight shift causes loading of the forks and unloading of the rear.
2. Decrease in rollover from the rear wheel (‘cos a braked wheel rolls less).
3. Change in effective/virtual swingarm length, and leverage ratio.
4. Increase in rollover from the effective/virtual swingarm.
With the above 4 factors you can measure and optimise the way a rear suspension and rear brake work together.
Anti-rise is a thing that exists, and it can tell us how a bike might feel, but it doesn’t inform how the bike performs.
Tom MBUK Magazine said Marra’s suspension performance under braking is “simply incredible”, but even more incredible: nothing else got worse in the process.
