Golden Hour Paddle? More like a Red Hot Paddle! ☀️🔥🛶

The hottest day of the year gave us a fantastic evening on the water. It was great to see such a variety of boats out tonight, from canoes and kayaks to paddleboards.

With the barges temporarily stopped due to canal works, the water has been even quieter than usual, making for a really peaceful paddle and a chance to enjoy the sunshine and scenery at a slower pace.

One participant even managed to fall asleep during the paddle… but we never said canoeing was easy work! 😴😂

🚣‍♂️ What a fantastic afternoon we had at the Community Power Festival at Lock & Quay.

We were delighted to offer taster sessions as part of SAFE Regeneration’s 25th anniversary celebrations and introduce more people to our wonderful canal.

It was also a reminder of just how much SAFE has achieved over the last 25 years. Countless community groups, projects and opportunities simply would not exist without their support, vision and commitment. Their positive impact can be seen right across Sefton, helping to bring people together, strengthen communities and create opportunities for local people.

Congratulations to everyone at SAFE Regeneration on this incredible milestone, and thank you to everyone who joined us on the water. 💙🚣
