๐Ÿ›ถ๐Ÿ’š Getting the canal ready for Salt & Tar! ๐ŸŽถ

The Bootle Canoe Club crew have been out on the water around Lock & Quay, clearing litter and helping get the canal looking its best ahead of the Salt & Tar Summer Music Festival. ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ

Just one of the ways our volunteers help look after our local waterways. ๐Ÿ’ช

๐ŸŽถ If youโ€™re coming to watch the festival by boat, please help us keep the canal looking great:

โ™ป๏ธ Take all your litter home with you - please donโ€™t leave anything behind.

๐ŸŒฟ Take care around the w**d - thereโ€™s a lot of vegetation on this stretch of canal, so please slow down and take extra care when navigating.

Letโ€™s enjoy the music, the canal and the atmosphere while keeping this special stretch of Bootle looking its best. ๐Ÿ’š

Have a brilliant festival everyone - hope to see you there! ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ›ถ๐Ÿป

A new chapter for the Lock & Quay! ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽจ

Today marked the official unveiling of the Lock & Quayโ€™s stunning new artwork, celebrating the venueโ€™s refreshed identity.

The artwork beautifully reflects everything the pub stands for โ€“ Bootleโ€™s heritage, culture, enterprise, arts and the community that continues to make it such a special place.

The Lock & Quay has become far more than just a pub โ€“ itโ€™s a welcoming community hub where people connect, create and support one another.

Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this vision to life. Hereโ€™s to the next chapter! ๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸŒ… Thatโ€™s a wrap on our Golden Hour Paddles for 2026! ๐Ÿ›ถ๐Ÿ’š

Last night marked our final Golden Hour Paddle of the season, and what a summer itโ€™s been!

Weโ€™ve loved seeing so many people, families and friends getting out on the water, making memories, building confidence and enjoying those incredible summer evenings together. The response has been amazing, with every session selling out.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us. Weโ€™re sorry we couldnโ€™t get everyone on the water this summer, but the popularity means we are planning to run twice as many Golden Hour sessions next year! ๐Ÿ™Œ

As the evenings begin to draw in, weโ€™ll now return to our Saturday paddles for the rest of the season.

๐Ÿ“… Our next session is Saturday 22nd August as part of Day 1 of the BUFF Festival. Keep an eye on our page - the booking link will be coming soon.

Thank you for making our first Golden Hour season such a success. We canโ€™t wait to see you back on the canal soon! ๐Ÿ’š

Golden Hour Paddle? More like a Red Hot Paddle! โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ›ถ

The hottest day of the year gave us a fantastic evening on the water. It was great to see such a variety of boats out tonight, from canoes and kayaks to paddleboards.

With the barges temporarily stopped due to canal works, the water has been even quieter than usual, making for a really peaceful paddle and a chance to enjoy the sunshine and scenery at a slower pace.

One participant even managed to fall asleep during the paddleโ€ฆ but we never said canoeing was easy work! ๐Ÿ˜ด๐Ÿ˜‚

A brilliant summer evening with great company. Make sure you join us for the next one!
