On a sunny day at Norton Lane the boys started the season with an entertaining win. Playing up the hill first half Yatton raced into a 19-0 lead with 20 minutes gone. A mixture of good attacking and a somewhat disorganised defence saw it literally become an uphill task. But it was a task Barbs were up to. The comeback started and by half time it was 26-24.

Into the 2nd half and Barb’s took full control of the game showing some great attacking rugby but the leaky back door was always open and couldn’t quite pull away. With 5 minutes remaining it was down to 5 points with Yatton pushing for the win. A cracking defensive effort meant the win was secured and a great game was over.

Great result for the Barbs today. A great contest played in great spirit, thank you to Yatton 2s a game that could have gone both ways. Good luck for the season. Special mention to the 17yr old referee who did a stellar job.

Just a reminder that it’s our old players reunion tomorrow followed by the season opener and a good old quiz to follow.

Here are the boys taking to the pitch for our opening league game. 3 league debuts and a chance to show what a pre season has been about. Let’s not forget the old boys reunion and club quiz night after to make it a Saturday to remember.
