Here he is, captain for this season Ross Bishop.

How long have you been a Barbarian?

This is my 6th year as a Barbarian! Luckily being in my late 20s I have plenty more infront of me!

Best memory?

Best memory is a hard one, had a lot of great small ones with the lads, obviously our current coach joining has been amazing and as our best player we couldn’t do without him, but i would say my 1st ever game at home to WSM when I was only coming to help out for 'just one game'.

Best dressed teammate?

Weirdo is the best dressed, only just beating myself but my modesty must hand him the win.

Worst dressed teammate?

Hard question again, Pako who looks like he's always wearing a t-shirt even when topless. Gimli wearing what ever was top of the pile and our chairman who is trying to revive the chino single handedly.

Any superstitions?

Not the superstitious type and never realy followed any pre match routines too strictly.

Aim for the season ahead?

To be in the fight for the league title come the last few games of this season, and with the drive of the lads new and old im feeling confident!

Hi all, we are looking for sponsors to sponsor a shirt number for the season. £100 gets your name next to the selected number for every matchday team sheet. A great way to expose your business.
Contact us if interested.

Weds meet the player is Leon Harrison. Plenty of experience and looking to have a great season, let’s see what he says!

How long have you been a Barbarian?

I have been at the club for 7 seasons now.

Best memory at the club?

2026 tour (Weirdo punching a tree after attacking our chairman 😳)

Best dressed teammate?

Brandon (curly) loves a designer brand.

Worst dressed teammate?

Weirdo, dresses like the captain of a cheesy cruise liner.

Any superstitions?

Turning up late makes you play better

Aims for this season?

New league so smash it.

10/08/2026

Today’s meet the player is co vice captain for the season Gareth Richards.

How long have you been at Barbarians?

It might be 9 years but definitely 8.

Best memory at Barbs?

Never losing to Phones, last years cup run, any team social before blacking out.

Best dressed teammate?

Has to be Weirdo.

Worst dressed teammate?

Gimli, say no more.

Any Superstitions?

Too laid back for that s**t.

Aims for the season?

Compete at the top of the league minimum this year

09/08/2026

Our next meet the player is the one and only vice captain for 2026/27 Ray Blackley

How long have you been at club?

3 years going into my 4th this season

Best club memory?

Minute silence for my brother organised for the club with my mother in attendance/ winning player of the year.

Best dressed teammate?

Weirdo, hands down. This man dresses like a pimp!

Worst dressed?

Brendan! Chinos all year round 😂😂

Any superstitions?

No superstitions

Aims for the season?

Continue to smash people in defence. Try and bring positive vibes to the lads and bring the comic relief when needed.

Weathers perfect, so we got the barbs balloon out. We’ll be up in a bit looking for players to join the club.

Congratulations to Chris Page who was voted our Clubman of the Year for 2025/26.

Chris said “ Thanks to all those who voted, very humbled to receive this award. It could have went to many who carry out a lot of hard work behind the scenes. Thank you”

Pre season continues on Weds, we would love to see new faces join the lads. If you haven’t played before, or a while and looking to join for a bit of rugby but with the fun left in, then come and enjoy a session at Norton Lane. 🏉 🍻

Our first meet the player post!

And we have to start with our Chairman Brendan Murphy.

1. How long have you been at Barbarians?

Since 1992/3 season with a few years out abroad.

2.Best club memory?

Any tour, always the best way to finish a season.

Best dressed teammate?

Probably me, or anyone who adheres correctly to the chinos policy. The lads looked very smart in their Chino Shorts for last game of season.

Worst dressed teammate?

Sorry Gimli.

Any superstitions?

Always right boot on first.

Aims for the season?

The boys to enjoy their rugby, no cry offs and perhaps push for a few 2nds/vets games as well. Would be nice to get the new clubhouse finished.
