Our U18s had a very hard match tonight against a fantastic and established team. Tough loss of 49-14 but there were a lot of positives in their performance. The effort and teamwork throughout the match really stood out and they took on advice after their last match. They created some excellent moments with clean intercepts in defence and some fantastic shooting under a lot of pressure.
The main struggle at the moment is a lack of confidence — not their ability and that will come with more game time! When they trusted themselves and moved the ball with confidence, they looked strong and connected as a team. Its not easy when the score is against you but they didn't stop trying!
Keep backing your skills foxes, communicating and supporting each other and the wins will come.

Well done to our U18 Foxes playing their first match this week in an adult social league. They played an experienced team and kept the pressure on. All 7 of them played a high standard and didn't let the score affect their game at all even though this was their 1st match together. They may have lost 38-20 but they are only just beginning their journey! Can't wait to see how they progress over the summer league. Well done girls.

All 4 of our sessions embraced a little Easter fun this week to end the term on, with each session being a little different ;
Some embraced their inner bunny, bouncing over the hurdles using controlled safe jumps,
some had to use accurate strong passing to take out the evil bunnies(on the fence),
The foxes included a bit of old fashioned egg and spoon race in the obstacle course that ended with feeding the Easter bunny ( shooting with a bunny back board 🐰 )
we had teams trying to get as many eggs back from evil bunnies using a small spoon to give back to the easter bunny using problem solving and balance
and the coach's personal favourite in both of the teen sessions, retrieving the eggs blindfolded with the support of their team improving on their communication and bonding. Each session ended with some game play and a little chocolate treat.
We hope all of our Foxes and Wolves family enjoy their 2 week break and look forward to seeing everyone next term.

That's a wrap for this season for our U12's. Would have been great to finish the season with a win after having to forfeit our last match but unfortunately that wasn't on the cards. The opposition were a very strong team across the court with fantastic shooters and lots of extra players which we were jealous of as it was so warm yesturday ☀️😂.
Our girls did not give up even playing as a team of 6 for the 2nd and 3rd quarter! A massive thanks to the opposition who lent us a player for the final quarter. 🥰
The U12s still continue to amaze us with their resilience! They do not give up! They have played as a 6 quite often this season, this afternoon 3 of the players had previous injuries and yet did not stop trying the whole match and managed to get quite a few goals in as well as some amazing interceptions. Every single player has improved this season and we loved seeing their bond as a team grow.

Our Teen Foxes group made their own netball inspired obstacle courses for their warm up this week. They split into 2 teams and had to work together to design their course and then explain it to the other team. Both teams did a great job and included lots of much needed stretches and jumps and of course ending with some shooting. 🥰

Sharing as this is a very interesting read.
This shows how important the sport was for encouraging women and girls into being active and breaking into sport. Netball is no longer just for women which is great (because it is an awesome game that everyone should be able to enjoy) as there are mixed leagues and mens leagues being created but it served an important purpose and we are very thankful to the creation of Netball and how far it has come. 🥰
Do you know the origins of netball?🏐
Netball was the brainchild of Martina Bergman-Österberg, a Swedish physical education instructor and women’s suffrage advocate who lived and worked in Britain.
She modified the rules of basketball over several years at the college she worked at in Dartford, as a way of encouraging her female students to be active at a time when sport largely excluded them.
The first rules were published in the early 1900s and the sport spread throughout the British Empire, where domestic netball competitions arose.
From the 1920s, national associations were formed, including England Netball in 1926, and international matches followed.
Today, netball is played by millions of people worldwide.
For many women their earliest and most lasting memories of sport – and team sport in particular – are of school netball.
But netball didn’t just provide the opportunity for women to be active: it was so much more than that...
It carved out space in the heavily male-dominated world of sport, a space where women and girls belonged.
Women’s sport wouldn’t be where it is today if it weren’t for netball.
Happy centenary to our friends England Netball and thank you for all the incredible work you continue to do for women and girls💜
✍ Did you/do you play netball? We’d love to hear your stories!

Very proud of our teen Wolves this afternoon. We ended up calling the session a little early for their safety and to prevent illnesses but they did not get scared off by the constant heavy downpour! We all left completely soaked after a hour of pouring rain but still lots of smiles all around. They played so well especially with the conditions.

It was a tough decision trying out a new venue for our wolves but it went really well this week, having our teen session straight after our minis. It was great meeting some new faces and welcoming them to our Foxes & Wolves family.
This is our mini wolves having a post session stretch led by our Junior Coach.
