Feeling safe.
Feeling safe enough to put your guard down.
Feeling safe enough to make mistakes.
Feeling safe enough to try something new.
Because sitting with discomfort? That’s often where change begins.
Throughout my 20s, I ran.
I pushed people away. I pi**ed people off. I lost good friends. I was aloof, defensive, unreliable at times — hiding from emotions and not really coping with much at all.
And the thing is, when you’re in it, you often don’t recognise the running.
The avoiding.
The shutting down.
The feeling that conflict is too much, so it feels easier to step away, stay quiet, disappear, or protect yourself.
But after time, you realise…
Avoiding isn’t easier.
It becomes hard work. Heavy work.
Growth comes when we feel safe enough to stay. To feel. To mess up. To sit in discomfort instead of running from it.
Because maybe change isn’t about becoming someone new.
Maybe it’s about feeling safe enough to finally be seen.

We often talk about “motivation” like it’s something we either have… or we don’t.
But what if it’s not that simple?
What if what we actually need is stimulus?
Something that gently nudges us into movement.
A workout buddy.
A class you’ve committed to.
A dog that needs walking.
A coach expecting you.
Even just a plan written down the night before.
Because here’s the truth…
Most people don’t lack discipline.
They lack a starting point.
And without that starting point, it’s very easy to:
“I’ll do it later.”
“I don’t know where to start.”
“I’m too tired today.”
So is that an excuse… or is it a missing piece?
For many, it’s not about willpower.
It’s about removing friction and creating just enough structure to begin.
Stimulus doesn’t make you weak.
It makes you supported.
But here’s the key 👇
We don’t want to become dependent on external motivation.
We want to use it as a bridge.
A way to:
→ build confidence
→ create consistency
→ learn what works for you
Until eventually… you don’t need the push in the same way.
You’ve built momentum.
So if you’re struggling to get started, don’t ask:
“What’s wrong with me?”
Ask:
“What could support me right now?”
Because sometimes, the smallest shift — a plan, a person, a prompt — is the thing that gets everything moving.
And once you’re moving… everything feels different.

The guilt of sitting down.
That quiet moment where you finally stop… and instead of relief, your mind starts tallying.
Have I done enough today?
Could I be doing more?
The house isn’t sorted.
There’s washing to do.
Dinner to prep.
Work I’ve been putting off.
You’re exhausted… but resting somehow feels harder than pushing through.
It’s not even failure exactly — it’s that uncomfortable feeling of being *still*.
Like you’ve slipped into a space you haven’t quite “earned.”
But here’s the truth we don’t say enough:
If you never learn to stop, everything starts to feel overwhelming.
Never-ending.
Heavy.
Even the simple parts of life become “just more to do.”
Rest isn’t something you earn at the end of productivity.
It’s what makes everything else feel manageable in the first place.
You’re allowed to sit down.
Without justifying it.
Without earning it.
Without the running commentary in your head.
Because constantly pushing isn’t strength —
knowing when to pause is.
And maybe… that’s the real work.

2026 has tested me
It’s asked a lot of my energy.
Most things I’ve got right, but there are also things I’ve struggled with.
One of the biggest lessons has been learning to set better boundaries.
Setting boundaries doesn’t mean you’re difficult.
It means you’re honest about what you need.
A boundary might sound like:
• “I can’t commit to that right now.”
• “I need some time to rest.”
• “That doesn’t feel right for me.”
• “I’m not available for that.”
Boundaries aren’t about pushing people away.
They’re about protecting your energy so you can show up as your best self.
When we don’t set boundaries, resentment builds.
When we do set them, relationships often become clearer, calmer and more respectful.
It’s not always easy.
It can feel uncomfortable at first.
But every time you honour your limits, you teach others how to treat you.
And most importantly…
you teach yourself that your needs matter too.
✨ Boundaries are not walls.
They are the doors that let the right things in.
