So today is “National Book a trackday, day 2026” always held on a Friday this day promotes the hard work and dedication that many people just don’t see of what goes on behind the scenes for a day to be held.
Marshalls:
Sweeping up gravel from a Car thats driven back round the track on the racing line, our indeed bringing back a car that the owner forgot his towing eye for. 🛻
Medical staff:
Washing out your eyes for you after you opened that “over full” Jerry can of fuel, our if like the other week dealing with you because you thought it funny to take recreational drugs at a circuit. 💊🚬
Catering staff:
Listening to you order stuff thats not on the menu, and asking them for the third time in one evening “How come a coffee is £4”💵
Instructors:
Well would you sit next to someone on a race track who’s admitted they have no idea where there going 😂 or why they are here.
The Organiser:
Taking a phone call from someone wishing to cancel a track day, only after 10 minutes of listening to said customer for them to try and cancel a day thats not even operated by Opentrack 🤔
All just some interesting facts from about 90- m inures of a Donington evening 😁
But on the plus side what a cracking way to earn a living, great fun and laughter ( for 93.7% ) of the time.

Well it stayed dry 🫣😂😂 ( not quite true ) …. For once at Donington, one or two breakdowns and an off with lots of gravel on track caused a bit of a hold-up tonight but generally 95.7% of drivers said they had a good time. :-)

Only used 21 times a year this is a “Must” on any drivers list, sweeping off into the woods it’s a circuit full of classic twists and turns, with a feel thats not offered on modern circuit layouts.

A great selection of cars out Park today with drivers coming from as far as Germany and also Scotland for the track day. The rain held off for 95% of the day and the air was cool for the engines, so all in all a good day. We are next at Oulton park on Tuesday 7th July ( day after Anglesey on 6th July ) for drivers wishing to do a summertime back to back event.
