What the f**k are we all doing asking our boss if we can see our kids…?
“Can I leave early for sports day?”
“Can I take Friday off for their school assembly?”
“Can I work from home because they’re poorly?”
“Can I have the afternoon off for their appointment?”
And the answer is ultimately someone else’s decision.
Someone who doesn’t know how important that moment is to you.
Someone who isn’t going to get that time back with your child.
I know having a job gives you security.
I know bills need paying.
I know walking away from a 9–5 isn’t as simple as “just quit”.
But I also think we should question why we’ve accepted a life where our time with our own children has to be approved by someone else.
Because I didn’t want more money just for the sake of having more money.
I wanted control over my time.
I wanted to be able to say yes when my children needed me.
I wanted to work around my life, rather than squeeze my life around work.
And that’s exactly why I started building an online business.
Not because I hated working.
Because I wanted a different way of working.
