What stops most academic and teaching writing isn’t motivation.
It’s the size of the next step.
‘Write the chapter’ is a project, not a task. The brain reads it as a wall and looks for somewhere else to be. ‘Open the document and read the last paragraph you wrote’ is a task. Small, finite, possible in two minutes.
The chapter writes itself from there or it doesn’t. But at least the door is open.
Most stuck-ness gets misnamed. Called procrastination. Called burnout. Often it’s just a step defined too big — and a brain quite reasonably refusing.
What’s your real next step? Not the project. The two-minute thing.
If even that step is hard alone, a Daily Wise Block is itself a small step — sixty minutes, online, then back to your day.
