​Division 2 got the ball rolling on Monday, and now it’s time for Division 1 to take the stage at Pontcanna Fields!

​With the top 5 teams locked into the upper tier, every game in Phase 2 is a battle between title contenders. Remember, head-to-head points from games between Division 1 teams in Phase 1 carry forward, meaning every win from here on out is massive for the championship race.

🥎 MONDAY NIGHT RECAP: PHASE 2 IS OFFICIALLY UNDERWAY! 🥎

​Phase 2 kicked off on Monday night at Pontcanna Fields with our first two Division 2 fixtures! Both games delivered high-scoring action and gave us our first look at how the table is shaping up in the second half of the season.

​How the standings work: Points carried over into Phase 2 are based strictly on head-to-head results between Division 2 teams during Phase 1 (all games against Division 1 teams have been scrubbed!). This sets up an amazingly balanced table where every single result moving forward will directly decide who takes home the Division 2 crown!

​With Bats Hit Crazy, Inglorious Batters, and Red Dragons all deadlocked at the top on 9 points, the battle for the top spot is razor-thin right out of the gate.

🏆 NSL WEEKEND ROUNDUP: PROMOTIONS, DRAMA & SURVIVAL! 🏆

​What a weekend of slowpitch softball! Huge congratulations to all our local players representing across the National Softball League divisions this weekend.

​🎉 PROMOTIONS TO NSL 2
​Cardiff NSL Team: They did it! A dominant campaign ends with Cardiff taking 1st place in Division 3A and officially securing promotion to NSL 2 for next season! Huge congratulations to the whole squad—what an incredible achievement! 👏🔥

​Bristol Bees: Huge shoutout to Linda and her Bristol Bees squad, who topped Division 3B and will also be joining Cardiff in NSL 2 next year! 🐝💥

​💪 SOLID MID-TABLE FINISH

​The Bombers: Congratulations to Pete and Hollee on completing their very first NSL campaign! A great, competitive performance saw them secure a solid mid-table finish, comfortably booking their return to NSL 3 next season. 💣🥎

​🎭 THE ULTIMATE ESCAPE ACT

​The Great Relegation Fightback: The most dramatic storyline of the entire weekend goes to Margaret, Alan, and Omer. Heading into the final stretch, relegation looked almost certain—until they pulled off an unbelievable comeback!
​It all came down to the very last game of the tournament. Securing a nail-biting 1-run victory—combined with a loss for Shafting in their final game—saw them leapfrog Shafting at the eleventh hour to secure safety! 🤯

​Commiserations to Shafting and Bracknell, who drop out of the division for next year.

​What an unbelievable end to Phase 1! The final round of games at Pontcanna Fields delivered absolute fireworks across every single diamond with massive hitting, wild shootouts, and amazing energy right down to the final out.

​Now that all four pitches have wrapped up, Phase 1 is officially complete, and both Division 1 and Division 2 lineups are locked in for Phase 2!

​🏟️ PITCH 3: CHAOS SECURE DIVISION 1!
​The Score: Bats Hit Crazy 9 — 24 Chaos

​The Story: With everything on the line in this "Win & You're In" showdown, Chaos stepped up and executed when it mattered most. Unleashing a ruthless 24-run offensive display, Chaos controlled the game from start to finish. Bats Hit Crazy never quite managed to find their top gear, allowing Chaos to run away with it and seal the deal in style.

​What it means: Chaos officially lock down the 5th and final Division 1 spot! Bats Hit Crazy miss out on the top split, but they'll get a chance to reset and find their rhythm as they head into Division 2 for Phase 2.

​🏟️ PITCH 4: WET SOCKS BLOW OUT THE FINALE
​The Score: Teirw'r Taf 7 — 27 Valley Wet Socks

​The Score: Inglorious Batters 21 — 17 Base Invaders

​The Story: Pitch 1 saw a fast-paced, high-scoring track meet! The Base Invaders put up 17 runs in another strong offensive showing, but the Inglorious Batters out-slugged them down the stretch to pull away for a 21–17 win.
