Matt Sherratt played a big part in my career. He gave me the opportunity and made me believe I could do it myself. Over my time at Bristol there were a lot of changes. Liam Middleton was there, then Andy Robinson came in, who I got on with really well and thought was a very good coach. Sean Holley was there too.

I spent nine seasons at Bristol and became the club’s longest-serving player during that period. A lot changed year after year, and there were teammates who went through that journey with me.

Jack Tovey was a good friend and a big influence alongside Callum Sheedy. Another was Joe Joyce who I’m still close with. He has now moved back over from Connacht to join Gloucester, but we saw so many different versions of Bristol together.

I scored 30 tries for the club, but the one that sticks most in my mind was not actually at Ashton Gate. It was my first Premiership start, away at Harlequins.

Tim Visser was my opposite man, and Will Hurrell passed me the ball just before the halfway line. There was space in the backfield, so I chipped over. I think Joe Marchant was chasing back, the ball slipped out of his hands and I dived on it.

Happy 78th Birthday to our very own ‘Sir’ Kevin McDonald 🥳🔰

When we ask the seniors to leave the shirt in a better place to what they found it, it’s the same shirt the take off the hook that’s put up by Kevin every single week. Thank you for everything you do Kev, it’s truly appreciated from all the players, coaches and commitee 🔰🔰

Great to see next seasons youth staying together in the off season and getting some early learnings on the touch rugby scene. Supported by Martin Ridley bringing his Aussie touch experience, Tyreese and senior Evan Watson. More seniors to get into the mix over the coming summer weeks 🫡🔰

If interested in a weekly run out over Trelai Park in the touch leagues with the boys get in touch.

Penalties:
Rhain Strang (1)

The senior players, coaches, management and committee would like to thank everyone for the support through the year 🔰🔰
