Emma has been part of Team BMPT since 2018 and has become a big part of the community.

She consistently trains 3–4 times per week, gets involved with our social events, and brings a positive attitude to her sessions.

Recently we've seen a shift in Emma's training; she's prioritising her main lifts and wants to improve each and every session.
Her rack pull is a great example. It’s something we’ve had to work through and problem-solve over time, but recently things have started to really click, and we’re seeing some really positive improvements and progression!

Rather than trying to force progress or getting frustrated with things that have previously been difficult, Emma has been willing to listen, make adjustments and stick with what we’re working on.

Well deserved, Emma 👏

Different ages. Different starting points. Different reasons for being here. But they're all building the kind of strength that pays off ten and twenty years from now

That's what future-proofing looks like. Not extreme or complicated. Just consistent, coached training that's adapted to you.

Progress doesn't always look like a heavier weight on the bar or a number on a screen.

Sometimes it's walking upstairs without holding the rail. Picking up a grandchild without thinking twice. Getting through a session you'd have found impossible three months ago.

At BMPT, nobody is comparing. The person next to you is working on their own thing, at their own pace, and they're genuinely pleased when you show up.

That's what a good training environment does. It makes the quiet wins feel just as important as the loud ones.

If that sounds like somewhere you'd feel comfortable, you're welcome to come in and have a look around.

Most people don't leave gyms because the equipment was wrong or the price went up.

They leave because nobody noticed they were there. And nobody noticed when they stopped coming.

At BMPT, your coaches know your name. They know your week's been tough. They know which shoulder needs watching. They know when you've not been in for a few days, and they'll check in. It's a small thing that changes everything.

Feeling like you belong somewhere can be the difference between giving up and quietly getting stronger.

If you've been thinking about finding somewhere that actually feels like it's for you, send us a message. We're happy to have a conversation.

Sherry has been part of Team BMPT since 2025, and she’s been a brilliant member of the gym ever since.

One thing we’ve particularly appreciated about Sherry is the trust she’s placed in us with her coaching.

When a back ni**le cropped up, it would have been easy to stop completely and wait until everything felt perfect again.

Instead, Sherry kept communicating with us, trusted us to adapt her training where needed, and continued doing what she could.

That’s a big part of what good training looks like.

It isn’t about everything going perfectly. Niggles happen. Life happens. Plans sometimes need to change.

The important bit is learning how to work around those bumps in the road rather than letting them knock you completely off course.

Sherry has done exactly that, and she continues to turn up with a smile and get stuck in.

Do you have a job that's non-stop, high-pressure, and follows you home in your head?

Vicki does.

And before she joined BMPT, she'd never set foot in a gym in her life; she only came along because a colleague wouldn't stop talking about it.

What she's found since is something a lot of people in demanding jobs never expect from training: it's not just about how she looks; it's what it does for her head. When work is stressful, and the to-do list won't quit, her sessions here are the thing that resets it. She walks in wound up and walks out clearer every time.

Alongside that, she's fitter, healthier, and more confident than she's ever been, and she's built some of the best friendships of her life along the way.

If that sounds familiar- a job that drains you, a head that never switches off- training might do more for you than you think. It's not always about muscle definition. Sometimes it's just about getting your head back.

Come and see what a session could do for you.

Results don't come from motivation. They come from showing up.

We put a lot of pressure on motivation. We wait for it. We blame ourselves when it disappears. But here's the truth: you don't need motivation to get started. What you actually need is a reason that means something, a decision to change, and a commitment to yourself. That's what gets you through the door, and that's what keeps you coming back.

On average, our members train with us for three and a half years. If you asked most of them, "Do you feel motivated today?" a lot of them would honestly say no.

But if you asked, "Does your health and fitness matter enough that you'd never quit?" the answer is yes, every time.

That's the difference. When your why is stronger than the motivation you think you're supposed to feel, consistency stops being a struggle. It just becomes what you do.

You don't have to feel fired up to begin. You just have to decide that making a change matters.

What's been going on at BMPT? Quite a lot, actually. 👇

Swipe through for a little round-up of life at the club lately:

⛳ Three teams out at Carlisle Golf Club for the Eden Valley Hospice Charity Golf Day — a brilliant day supporting the incredible care they and Jigsaw provide across Cumbria.

☀️ Helen Arthur joined us for a warm, honest workshop on sun care and simple self-help habits — with plenty of chat and questions afterwards. We are excited to partner up with Helen for future talks, the next looking into how 'brain fog' affects women going through the menopause

💆 Massage therapy has arrived! We're delighted to welcome Jo Cloudsdale of Members & non members can book a 20-minute taster massage for just £20 throughout August. Link to book: https://www.fresha.com/book-now/revive-holistic-therapy-j37r9hyr/all-offer?share=true&pId=3028786

👨‍👩‍👧 Family Fitness is officially underway — training, moving and having fun together. Not just for the sporty kids: every family & every ability.

⛰️ We swapped the gym for the fells with a summer walk around Buttermere — sunshine, big views and great company (dogs included).

🙌 And a huge well done to our Magic 12 Club — every member who hit 12+ sessions in July. Take a bow.

This is what we mean when we say we're more than a gym. Workshops, treatments, family sessions, and a community that shows up for each other.

Fancy being part of it? Send us a message, or email [email protected] 📩

The gym for the non-gym person.

Starting your fitness journey can feel uncomfortable enough. The gym shouldn’t add to that.

Our goal is simple: help you feel relaxed, supported and comfortable from day one.

No intimidation or pressure. Just a place to get started.

Sue joined BMPT in 2024, and the progress she's made has been brilliant to watch.

She's not only become significantly stronger, but her ability to perform movements with confidence and control has also improved massively. Exercises that once felt challenging are now part of her routine because she's been willing to practise, learn and trust the process.

One thing that stands out about Sue is the intention she brings to every session. She wants to improve, focuses on the details, and always gives her best effort. Add in the occasional friendly nudge from us as coaches, and she's consistently moving forward.

Sue is proof that lasting progress isn't about being perfect. It's about showing up (sometimes on time 🤣), putting in the work, and being open to improving one session at a time.

Well done Sue 💪
