Who still trains when they're off work or spending time with the family? 🙋

I definitely don't go all out every day when I'm away, but I'll always try to do something.

It might only be a 15 minute kettlebell session, a 10 minute yoga or mobility flow, or even just getting out for a walk.
It doesn't have to be a full workout, it just keeps the body moving.
For me, it's not just about fitness either. It's for my mind.

Movement is my medicine. My daily medication.

People often tell me, "You need to relax." But the funny thing is... training is my way of relaxing. Movement is my meditation 🙂🧘‍♂️

I've learnt over the years that consistency isn't about smashing yourself every session.
It's about keeping the habit alive, even when life gets busy.

Every little bit adds up, and your future self will thank you for it 🙏

Just a quick one to let everyone know Im taking a bit of well earned time off😁

I'll be recharging the batteries, spending some quality time with the family and coming back refreshed.
I'll be back training clients from Tuesday 11th August💪

Thanks for all your continued support, and I'll catch you all soon! 😃👊

And today we're still going strong! 💪

Clients like Claire remind me why I love what I do.
It's never about being motivated every day it's about turning up, putting the work in, and keeping going.

Here's to many more sessions! 😃👌

It's mad how fast time flies!

I remember when COVID hit and everything suddenly came to a stop. Gyms closed, routines changed overnight, and like many in the fitness industry, I had to adapt.

Although I was already doing a bit of mobile PT, that period really pushed me outdoors. I started running kettlebell bootcamps in the park, and before long, that evolved into the fully mobile personal training business I run today.

Looking back, it was a crazy time for everyone, but in many ways it helped me find my direction. It's funny how challenges can sometimes lead to opportunities you never expected.

What's even better is that I'm still training some of the amazing clients who first started with me during COVID. That means a lot, and I'm incredibly grateful for everyone who's been part of the journey.

Here's to the memories... and to many more to come💪😊

This photo was taken not long after my son was born 17 years ago.

Looking back, it's a reminder of where it all started.

Most people see a Personal Trainer now, but they don't see the years before that.

Just before George was born, I lost my job. At a time when I felt I should have been providing for my family, I felt like I'd failed. I felt useless as a father.

I was underweight, lacked confidence, and was on antidepressants. Looking back now, they're something I'd never personally choose to take again, but at the time I was struggling.
Something had to change.
So I started training.

I started learning everything I could about fitness, strength and nutrition. Training wasn't just about building muscle; it became somewhere I could clear my head, focus on something positive and slowly rebuild myself.

The results didn't come quickly. It took years of consistency before I really started seeing the changes I was chasing.

And that's something I always remind my clients...

Real progress takes time.

Even now, after all these years, I still have goals. They just look different. You don't reach a finish line with fitness. You hit one milestone, enjoy it for a moment, then set your sights on the next.

Whatever your reason is for starting, don't compare your Chapter 1 to someone else's Chapter 20.

Keep turning up, Keep learning, Keep moving.

A year from now you'll be glad you didn't quit.

Have a great week everyone. 💪

Want a Smaller Waist?
Think Proportion, Not Endless Crunches.

One of the biggest myths in fitness is that if you want a flatter stomach, you need to do hundreds of crunches and loads of ab exercises.

The truth? Ab exercises build and strengthen the abdominal muscles, but they don't magically burn the fat covering them.

If your goal is a flatter stomach, the main thing you need to focus on is reducing overall body fat through sensible nutrition, regular exercise, and consistency.
There really isn't a shortcut around that.

Here's something else many people don't realise...

A smaller looking waist is often about proportion.

By building the muscles around your waist, you can create the appearance of a narrower midsection. For example:

✅ Building your glutes can create more shape through the hips and lower body.

✅ Developing your shoulders and upper back can create more of a V-taper, making the waist appear smaller.

✅ Improving posture through strength training can help you stand taller and carry yourself better.

So instead of spending hours doing endless crunches, focus on the bigger picture:

🏋️ Strength train regularly.

🥩 Eat enough protein.

🚶 Stay active throughout the day.

😴 Prioritise sleep and recovery.

📈 Be consistent over time.

Train your whole body, lose excess body fat, and let your physique develop in proportion.
That's where the real magic happens 💪

Yup, it’s certainly been another warm one today 😬🔥

Had most of my clients training outside in the shade… although some still smashed sessions in 31 degrees!
Fair play to everyone though, everyone managed brilliantly and we still got some solid kettlebell work done 😀💪

Also had a little visitor join me earlier!
Poor little guy looked exhausted, so I offered him some water and it was actually pretty cool watching him stop for a drink.

Think my car has officially become a Beeee-MW now 🤣🤣

Had the pleasure of coaching Vicara Yoga & Personal Training today.

It was not your normal session, but running through a lot of corrective techniques, and introducing some of my kettlebell flow workouts to 💪

A short clip which Vicky took during the session today 😀👍

I decided not to run the classes today, made the decision last night… mainly for everyone else’s wellbeing in this heat 😅

But, it did give me a chance to get my own session in today 😁

It wasn’t crazy intense, but there was definitely still plenty of sweat involved 🥵💪

Hope everyone is surviving this week’s heatwave! Stay hydrated and look after yourselves 🙏🙏

What honestly stops you from stepping foot into a gym?

Everyone has their reasons…

• Lack of confidence
• Feeling judged
• Not knowing what to do
• Busy lifestyle
• Kids at home
• Anxiety around gym environments
• Previous bad experiences
• Or simply feeling overwhelmed when you walk in

This is actually one of the biggest reasons I train clients in their own homes.

For some people it’s the convenience.
For others it’s having someone there to guide, support, and keep them accountable without the pressure of a gym environment.

I had a client say to me recently that she was already getting fed up with the gym because although she had a training plan, half the time the equipment she needed was being used 😅

By the time she changed exercises around, waited for machines, and lost momentum, her whole session felt thrown off. Add in trying to motivate yourself when energy is low, and suddenly it becomes very easy to cut the workout short or skip it altogether.

Sometimes people don’t need more motivation… they just need an environment that works better for them 👍
