He is okβ€οΈ When there's an emergency, and you genuinely aren't sure of what the outcome might be, you're scared, you imagine all scenarios, and it puts into perspective what is important.
Social media is full of so much bs, stuff that doesn't actually matter. Fueled by ego and popularity. It makes you look at it all, not inspired, just sad that the material things are THAT important to them.
Yesterday was horrendous. I got a call 8.50am whilst at the gym with a client. It was Charlie trying to speak but mumbling that he couldn't move and I need to come home. He was home with our 3 children.
He's type 1 diabetic - my first thought.
He had a stroke scare 1yr ago.
And 2 major back ops over 5yrs, so my head was spinning.
I was home within minutes and found him, a +120kg man, lying face down on the kitchen floor.
One side of him was a bluey/purple colour. Dripping in sweat. He had his phone next to him on the floor, mumbling to emergency services. The kids were crying, and I had no idea what had happened.
By the time I had got there, he couldn't move, he mumbled slightly and couldn't open his eyes. He was in and out. An ambulance was on the way, and he then started throwing up face down.
100 things spin in your head, whilst trying to be calm for the kids, reassuring them, making sure charlie doesn't choke, answering call handler questions, but not knowing what would happen next.
We were in hospital for the rest of the day. He became more consious, was given meds and tests came back normal, so he needed a CT scan.(1 year ago this showed a small mass when he had his scare). Luckily this time, they confirmed it wasn't a stroke.
He had suffered a random neurological episode that resulted in constricted blood vessels to his brain which mimicked a mini stroke resulting in the inability to move/speak. Alongside that, extreme central vertigo(originated from the brain and nervous system, not the ear)
Thankfully, apart from feeling achy, fatigued everywhere, he'll make a full recovery but needs rest and meds temporarily.
Seeing him led there, I wasn't sure what the outcome would be. It was SCARY, but nothing is more important than the family you create ππ»β€οΈπ€π»Charlie Barrett
