Axis Archives Part 2: Our Wholesome Era (2015–2017)
All still liked each other—nights out, race days, tournaments abroad. How did it all go so wrong?
2015–16
July sees Sam Buckley named as our first assistant manager.
The final year of white shorts, as the kit switches to all blue, with our first era of merch on the way.
The season ends with the club’s first race day completed, along with a charity tournament for Erin Cross. Axis Blues win the penalty shootout in the final to lift the trophy.
2016–17
Now fully in blue, with a few new players recruited through the club’s Chester Nomads connections.
The usual antics from Jake Jones see him turn up to a game in Halloween makeup, letting in three horror goals.
A momentous occasion for the goalkeeper, who keeps his first clean sheet for Axis in the same season—1002 days on from his debut.
A Christmas night out at La Fats.
A memorable trip to Amsterdam for the club and its fans sees 25 people travel, accidentally linking the club to Holdi Matt before his signing is announced.
A YouTube channel and Snapchat series are launched… videos to follow.
The season ends with our second individual trophy, as club founder Mark Ashbrook wins Secretary of the Year.

The 1st part of our Axis Archives series.
2014-15 season the club was formed, on a charity night out, in the basement of a Chester bar.
Louis Martin taking the helm as lead fella, at our hallowed turf, The Garrison.
We won a 5 a side tournament at goals, still our only competitive team trophy for on the field performances 12 years later.
Went to the national 5 a side tournament, where we progressed to the knock out stages, after someone crashing their car enroute, any guesses on who?
Matt McCann won Section B player of the season, voted for by other teams. Our only individual trophy for on the field.
Did we peak in 2014-15?

2025/26 fin.
Players come, players go.
One thing always sticks, we can't win a fu***ng trophy, but that's the Craxis way.
A season where we nearly folded at the beginning after playing more than 5 games with less than 11 players, but we stook at it turning it around in the 2nd half, ending the season with a quarterfinal, semi-final and 2nd in the league on GD after going on a 7-game win streak. Not bitter about the 3 point deduction at all, even though other teams got away with more with no punishment.
🏆Special mentions go to my captain George Green 21 games, 5 goals, 2 assists and 7 MOM's. minimum of 9/10 every week. Countless photos of players cowering in terror as he comes flying at them.
⚽️Samuel Parry in his debut season managed to get 14 goals in 23 games, 5 assists and 2 MOM's. Just needs to drink better beer.
🤝Paul Morrison after a switch in roles has become one of our best cm's, 11 assists and 5 goals in 20 games. Dancing past players so much that they can't even drag him down.

Shakey start, 2-1 down HT
Got to grips with their striker and finally put our foot down, screamer from Simmo to go level, followed up by Paz & Trey. Simmo MOM
Top of the table, 1 game to go, Custom House away, PTSD 2022

Tomorrow night we take on Sutton Rangers
This is our right to reply after yesterday's loss, big performance needed, our games always close
A 'cup' final for us
2 league games remain, if we win both we clinch the title
27/04/2026
Craxis has had a 50% increase in odds
Disappointing day for us, took a hold of the game first half then lost both full backs to injury, came out 2nd half with no punches.
Conceded in the last 10
Good luck to Dee Rangers
24/04/2026
Up against Dee Rangers again this week in a semi-final.
Hopefully we repeat the result, but with a better performance, as we could have easily thrown the game Tuesday night.
Big push needed in the remaining games
