MEMBER SPOTLIGHT — AIDAN 🌟

If you know Aidan, you’ll know what a huge part of our community he’s become. 😁🥊

Aidan has cerebral palsy, but that’s never stopped him from getting stuck in and giving training everything he’s got. He’s always got a smile on his face, always cracking jokes and is genuinely amazing to have around.

Over the years, Aidan has continued to amaze us with his determination and enthusiasm, even returning to training after significant surgeries and hospital stays.

And now he’s reached his BLUE BELT! 🔵🥋

We couldn’t be prouder of Aidan and everything he continues to achieve. He’s a brilliant example of what can be achieved with the right attitude, determination and support.

Here’s what Aidan’s mum had to say:

"We were introduced to Combat Academy by Aidans physiotherapist. He developed cerebral palsy after birth and she had experience of having patients use the Combat Academy to help with movement etc. so she arranged a referral supported by Tiny Tim’s charity. Once the referral period ended, Aidan was keen to continue.
He also has other medical conditions and as parents we were concerned initially about how he would take to Kickboxing. Aidan has year on year continued to amaze us with his tenacity, enthusiasm and ability, even returning after significant surgeries and hospital stays. He loves The Combat Academy and we are so grateful for the support he gets from the instructors and other members."

🥵 It’s been a hot one today!

So we had to get the ice pops out for everyone after training! 🍦😂

A well-earned cool down for everyone putting the work in today! 💪🔥

While the parents were training, these lot made the most of it by sitting together, chatting, and getting to know each other. 👊
One of the best things about martial arts is the friendships that are made both on and off the mats. 🥋💙

When its someone birthday we always celebrate however its even better when cake gets brought in!! 😁

Rumor has it after that teep it was Kev that went flying back not Tommy 😂

Over the weekend we took a small team of our junior's to the WKO tournament in barnsley. We came away with

First up we had Joey after having some time off of competing he decided it was time to get back into it. Going up against a much taller and older opponent joey stayed in the fight the entire time and give it everything he had. Unfortunately not coming away with the descion however he's more eager than ever to get back in there 💪

Then we had Jack up next his first fight he came up against a very skilled and well rounded fighter which made Jack more hesitant than usual. Which saw him come away with a silver 🙏

We then had Ollie competing for the first time which may I add you would not be able to tell at all! This young man came in calm and composed beating 2 people to win in the final and coming away with a GOLD for his first ever tournament!! 🔥

Then finally we had Olivia this young girl has come in as our youngest fighter in Chesterfield and her first tournament she did 4 categories over 2 days coming away with 3 silvers in very close competitive fights and in her last one she was determined to not come up short again and she was on fire winning the final to get her first GOLD! 🥇

Extremely proud of my young team they handled the days with nothing but class and maturity showing every opponent and coach respect
