Cold hosing for the beans
Cold pool for me 🤣🤭

Today is brutal I won’t lie 🥵

The horses are coping impeccably well all things considered! We’re on soaking duties every hour ⏰ and checking them over in between times!

I know everyone loves a hot summer, I know this is soon to become the norm and probably hotter as years go on but I’m honestly praying for at least some clouds tomorrow ⛅️ and perhaps a level of temperature that doesn’t match satans humour 🤣🫡

Cold hosing every couple of hours, checking waters, music blasting, additional mash feeds.. getting them back out when ample shade is available …I’m finally home! 😮‍💨

Survived what has felt like the hottest day in my 35yrs of life 🤣

I resemble a squashie but the horses have been cool, comfortable and calm 🩷

Same again tomorrow? Absolutely! Fridge is stocked full of water and red bull so I’m set 👌🏻🫡

Belle is a true asset to our team, not just during weeks like this! 🥵 But since starting; her work ethic and passion for horse care is top level and it’s great having such a fantastic member of the team stepping up without question! 🥰

💦 DOING YOUR BEST 💦

Here at HQ we’re doing all we can to make sure the horses are as comfortable and cool as humanly possible - with the set up of our fields and there not being enough shade or shelter during the hottest parts of the day they are staying on their same routine of coming in; granted making small adjustments on some timings to make sure they’re not stood in hot boxes for too long!

Our hosing off station is in full force and some of them are having additional electrolytes and sloppy mashes too to ensure ample hydration 👌🏻

However you manage your beans don’t question yourself, you know them best, you and they know their routine and doing everything as “normal” and the same as possible is far better than changing it up each day.

I’m pleased to say that all my clients are super sensible and are all doing their bit to keep the horses happy - dream team 😎

Look after yourselves too! It’s just as hot for us 🥵 keep your fluids up and seek shade as best you can! Won’t be long before it’s raining again 🤣

Early morning boops from the boys! Certainly leading up to be a hot few days 🥵 we’ve got predicted temperatures of 33/34° by Wednesday… I think I’ll just be in the middle of the yard with the horses walking round under the hose all day 😂🫣

Very settled today; getting to know the routine here at HQ and he certainly loves to people watch and enjoys a fuss and a cuddle!

The most beautiful boy arrived today joining the team at HQ 🫶🏻

A long travel to reach us but he settled so well this afternoon and has already made friends with his little turnout group 🥹

Looking forward to seeing him and his lovely owner begin their journey!

Fab news yesterday! In hand walks can start with the inclusion of more hand grazing to then build that up to some turnout - although I think someone might need some tequila juice for that 😂🙈

Last round of antibiotics have really done their job and the wound is looking so much better with some new skin forming nicely and it being less proud than before 😅 and the absolute best part is she’s sound 🥹💜💜🦄

Fingers crossed it continues to stay this way and I’ll be back on board in a few weeks 🫶🏻
