A REALITY CHECK FOR THE GOATS. πππ
It was a frustrating afternoon for Tekkers Community as we came away with a 4-4 draw against Harwich & Parkeston βAβ. We found ourselves 1-0 down after just 10 minutes, before Ryan Slack levelled things up in the 12th minute. Just two minutes later, George Vallentyne produced a good finish to put us 2-1 ahead, but individual errors ultimately cost us as we went into half-time 4-2 down. The boys battled away in the second half and goals from Chris Johnson and Ben Parkin eventually rescued a point. The chances were there, but we simply didnβt take enough of them.
Overall, it was a poor performance and a disappointing result, and one that gives us a massive reality check. Credit to Harwich & Parkeston, who worked extremely hard and, on the day, looked like they wanted it that little bit more than us. Rome wasnβt built in a day, and weβll learn from this, regroup and go again next week. Unfortunately, the afternoon was also marred by a serious alleged racist incident involving our right-back Emmanuel Dare and Harwichβs number 7. The matter has been reported to the Essex FA and the Essex & Suffolk Border League, and we will allow the appropriate processes to take their course. Ben Parkin was also shown a red card after the final whistle and will now serve a suspension.
Not the day we wanted, but these are the moments that test us. We take the lessons, stick together and keep building. πππ

As always with Tekkers, this is about much more than what happens on the pitch. β€οΈ This fixture will see us raising money for Leukaemia UK, supporting an incredible cause while bringing our community together through football. Weβd love to see plenty of familiar faces down at Wormingford, supporting the lads and helping us raise as much as possible.

MATCHDAY 2 πππ
Looking to kick on after a great start to the season last week! With a full squad available to choose from, minus a couple, weβre good to go and ready for another big one.
We know weβll have to be at our best against a strong Harwich & Parkeston βAβ side, but the lads are ready for the challenge. The aim is simple β build on last week, keep the momentum going and put in another performance that makes everyone connected to this club proud. πͺ
Another opportunity to represent the badge, another chance to get three points and another day for the Tekkers family to come together. πππ

π THE CAUSE β MARY & OSCAR π
This post introduces the two incredible children at the heart of our upcoming fundraiser, Mary, 12, and Oscar, 10, who both live with Rett syndrome. Their story is one of courage, resilience and determination, from the early signs that something wasnβt quite right through to their eventual diagnoses and the ongoing challenges they face every single day. Despite their complex needs, Mary and Oscar continue to bring huge amounts of love, personality and joy to their family. Weβre raising funds to help provide the specialist equipment and therapies they need to reach their potential and enjoy the best quality of life possible alongside their siblings, George and Arthur. This is why we do what we do β because football can be used to make a real difference away from the pitch. ππ Every bit of support means so much to Mary, Oscar and their family. πβ€οΈ
