Today, Tekkers Community FC hosts our FIRST EVER GOLF DAY at Brett Vale Golf Course, and it’s all for a very special little girl, River. ❤️

💚💛 RICKY SHAFTER MEMORIAL MATCH 💛💚

Some football matches are about more than the result. This one is about friendship, memories and coming together for someone who will never be forgotten.

The AFC Phoenix boys are getting back together again to remember their old teammate and friend, Ricky Shafter.

On Sunday 25th October, AFC Phoenix Legends will take on Tekkers Community FC Vets in what promises to be a very special afternoon of football, memories and togetherness.

For many of the Phoenix lads, it will be a chance to pull on the shirt together once again, share the pitch and remember the good times they had with Ricky. ⚽️💙

Most importantly, all proceeds from the match will go directly to Ricky’s family, helping us turn a day of remembrance into something that can make a real difference.

This Sunday, Tekkers Community FC Vets take on Gas Rec Legends in a very special charity match, raising money for The Chayse West Legacy.

River is 4 years old and lives with cerebral palsy, hydrocephalus and epilepsy. She spent her first two months in NICU and has faced many hospital stays and surgeries, including several shunt revisions.

The past year has been incredibly difficult. River has undergone THREE emergency brain surgeries because of complications with her shunt. Each time has been terrifying, and she has had to recover and rebuild her strength.

Despite everything, River is a happy, determined little girl. She loves swimming, music, her friends and having fun. Her resilience is incredibl

Since around 18 months old, we have worked tirelessly to help River build strength, movement and independence.

We’ve travelled abroad for specialist intensive therapy unavailable through the NHS, including Canada and Lanzarote. River has completed around 20 intensive therapy blocks and hundreds of hours of specialist therapy, alongside countless hours of exercises at home.

Most recently, she completed four weeks of intensive therapy in Canada.

Since coming home, River has started CRAWLING and is gaining strength and new skills every day. Every milestone means more independence and shows us that her hard work is paying off.

We want to build on River’s progress and explore the possibility of stem cell therapy, while continuing the intensive therapies that have helped her come so far.

Funds raised will help towards:

• Stem cell treatment
• Intensive physiotherapy & rehabilitation
• Occupational & specialist therapies
• Hydrotherapy
• Specialist equipment & mobility aids
• Travel & accommodation
• Therapy programmes at home

Our goal is simple: to help River become as strong and independent as possible and give her every opportunity to reach her potential.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported River before. Previous fundraising has allowed her to access specialist therapy in Canada and opportunities that otherwise wouldn’t have been possible.

Even after three emergency brain surgeries, River keeps pushing forward. She is now crawling and getting stronger every day.

Tomorrow, Tekkers Community FC take on the FC Byair Legends in what promises to be a fantastic day of football, friendship and fundraising!
The FC Byair Old Boys are lacing up their boots once again, joining forces with Tekkers to support our charity work and raise money for a brilliant cause.
This special vets charity match is all about bringing people together, enjoying the beautiful game and making a difference in our community.
