And the results are in! And there's two days of results to check out....

I think special mentions go to Ladies 1s and Mens 3s for their score lines this week. Well done, goals galore!

Our Ladies and Men's Over35s teams also kicked off their season with the Ladies away against Ipswich and the Men home against Chelmsford. Unfortunately a loss on both teams but we had a great time even if it felt like we were playing summer league in the heat! (There's me thinking we play a winter sport!)

From one keeper to a potential future number one! 🥅✨

Today, one of our brilliant young players stepped into the goalkeeper kit for the very first time just to try it out—and she was absolute magic!

As anyone who plays as a GK knows, putting on the kit for the first time is a massive rite of passage. It’s bulky, there's lots of weird bits, and it takes a lot of bravery to stand out there and face down the ball (especially when your friends are the ones hitting the ball at you!).Watching her try it on and take to it so naturally made me incredibly proud.

There is nothing quite like the feeling of playing in goal, and I am so excited to share the unique experience of this position with anyone willing to have a go. Who knows—we might just have a future Goal Keeping star on our hands!

Anya I hope you are very proud of yourself for having a go tonight, you did brilliantly 👏

Our Under 10 Romans and Under 12 Saxons group kicked off their tournament seasons this weekend with a Mixed tournament held at the Colchester pitch and a Girls tournament held at Felsted School.

We had 3 teams for the Mixed, and 3 teams for the Girls and the reports from the Team Managers was a resounding success. There was some great wins, some close fought draws and a few losses that have brought plenty of learnings and opportunities to bring back to training next week.

It was lovely to get some feedback from the opposing teams for how the tournament at Colchester was held, with a lot of praise towards our young umpires. I know that our girls who went to play at Felsted went with great attitude and listened well to their parents and coaches.

A massive thank you from me for all the help and support we have had from parents who travelled, who supported with set up, clean up and all the bits in between. For our young umpires, who for many were umpiring for the first time, working towards their umpiring assessments to support the club as they enter the adult leagues.

Our next tournament date is the 18th October for our Under 8s, Under 10s, and under 12s, so please make sure you put availability down as soon as you can so we can set teams up nice and early. If you are able to help as a Parent Team Manager, please speak to us at training or drop us a message on Teamo so we can get you set up!

Well Done Teams! You did great today!
