Such an honour to welcome Sonia Son🌹 currently in the cast of High School Musical, into the studio last night!

A former student of the school, previously known as the Lorraine George School of Dance Lorraine George 🥰, Sonia returned to teach our Advanced Training Programme students, who are exploring different pathways in dance and the performing arts.

It’s been very special welcoming a former student back to inspire the next generation. Thank you, Sonia….We look forward to seeing you back at HQ in January❤️

Who doesn’t love a shoulder stand?🤪

We have been a mission over the last year to get every single student doing a strong, technical shoulder stand.
Why? Because they teach us A LOT!

Straight legs and pointed feet
Core control
Glute engagement
Weight placement
Shoulder and scapula stability
Resilience and determination
And… they’re a fun challenge we can tackle as a team!

PILATES X BALLET 🩰💪🏽

We’re bringing Pilates principles into our ballet strength training, teaching our dancers not just what to do. But how and why.

Activating stabilising muscles.
Building strength and control.
Improving alignment, balance and body awareness.

Strong technique starts with understanding your body and we’re educating dancers, not just teaching steps.

And we’re lucky to have brilliant, experienced Pilates teachers within our Dance HQ team, thanks to .colchester

The WHAT. The HOW. The WHY.

TAP JOURNALS @ HQ

We’re more than just learning the steps…

Our Tap students have started building their journals and will add to them throughout the term, developing their understanding of:
Terminology
Rhythm
Dynamics
Musicality
Technique.

We want our dancers to understand the how and why, not simply copy movement from us. We are building knowledgeable and independent dancers.

Exciting development over here at HQ🤩✨💫
