THE 2026 FINES POT HAS OFFICIALLY BEEN SETTLED! 🍺💰

Every dropped sitter, golden duck, kit failure, and questionable fielding effort from across the summer has its price. On Saturday, the senior lads sat down to settle the accounts and take the annual Fines Day tour over to Worcester!

From the first pint to the last, it was the perfect way to wrap up the season, share a laugh about the highs and lows, and put the kitty to proper use.

Huge thanks to all the venues that accommodated us along the route: Dart Side, Saracens Head , Lamb and Flag Pub , Mode, O’Neill’s, The Courtyard, McDonald’s, Bierkeller, Wetherspoons, and the staff at The Wilde Poet for letting us pack out the bar for our group photo!

This is what Cookhill CC is all about. While we love our competitive cricket at The HBMG, the camaraderie and off-pitch community are just as important to our 'One Club' ethos.

A big shout-out as well to our valued club sponsors—your continued backing keeps our teams and community running all year round.

Looking ahead to next summer? Whether you're a seasoned player or looking to pick up a bat again, new players of all abilities are always welcome. Drop us a message here to get involved for the 2027 season!

WHAT A FINISH TO THE SEASON! 💙🏏

The Hens signed off their outdoor campaign in thrilling fashion on Wednesday evening with a fantastic victory over Martley!

Bowling first, the team stuck to their task superbly to restrict Martley to 85 runs. Every bowler put in a shift, with wickets shared across the attack:
Lucy: 2-17
Amy: 1-14
Annette: 1-16
Mars: 1-22

Chasing 86 to win, Cookhill kept their nerve under pressure. Amy led from the front with a brilliant unbeaten 35*, supported by a classy 26* from Lucy. Despite tight bowling from Martley and losing a couple of wickets along the way, the squad showed brilliant composure to cross the line with 9 balls to spare! 🎉👏
A massive thank you to everyone who supported The Hens throughout the summer, and to our scoreboard sponsor Data and AI Literacy Academy for powering the celebrations!

DIVISION 5 STATUS: SECURED! 🐓

What a way to finish the 2026 season! Our 1st XI delivered under massive pressure at The HBMG yesterday afternoon, taking a 52-run victory over Pedmore Cricket Club to officially secure our spot in Worcestershire County League Division 5 for 2027!

First Innings: The Batsmen Set the Standard
Batting first, the Roosters built an imposing total of 227/7 from 45 overs.

Kenny Hirst anchored the top of the order with a gritty 27 to see off the new ball.
Ben Smith batted with outstanding patience, compiling 32 off 65 balls.
Luke Mundie accelerated the scoring with an aggressive 42 off 58 balls (6 fours).
Zach Smith was the standout star, smashing an unbeaten 63* off just 61 balls (6 fours, 3 sixes) at a strike rate of 103.28 to propel us past the 200 mark!

Second Innings: Clinical Bowling Seals the Deal
Chasing a rain-revised DLS target of 200 from 35.2 overs, Pedmore were kept under relentless control from ball one:

Dave Kendall bowled a masterclass in economy, returning figures of 1/25 from 9 overs.
Ben Smith set the tone early with 1/18 off 7 overs.
Ansh Garg claimed a crucial breakthrough, taking 1/23.
Kieran Kite struck with pace to pick up 2/17 from 3.2 overs.
Zach Smith backed up his half-century with the ball, finishing with figures of 3/42 from 6 overs to rip through Pedmore’s middle order!

Pedmore finished on 147/8, handing Cookhill maximum points and confirming safety!

A massive thank you to our club partners and sponsors— including Data and AI Literacy Academy and Village Cricket Co. — for backing the club all summer long.

Four years ago today, Cookhill CC had a day to remember at New Road! 🏆

On 11th September 2022, the Roosters lifted silverware at the home of Worcestershire County Cricket Club after a 7-wicket victory against Stourbridge CC in the Sunday Slam 100 final.

After winning the toss and electing to field, our bowling unit put in a disciplined shift to restrict Stourbridge to 131/4 from their 100 balls. Harvey Phillips (1/26), Andrew Leigh (1/27), and Neil Shuttleworth (1/22) led the attack with a wicket apiece alongside tight spells from Alex Dalton, Greg Freeman, Pete Alexander, and James Coffey.

Chasing 132 for victory, Andrew Leigh (42) and Pete Alexander (42*) anchored the reply in style, seeing Harvey Phillips guide Cookhill over the line with 5 balls to spare under the iconic Worcester Cathedral backdrop.

Days like this showcase the ambition, togetherness, and competitive edge running through our teams. As the 2026 season draws to a close, planning is already underway for 2027. Whether you're an experienced player aiming for competitive cup cricket or looking to get involved in an inclusive, social village setup, we want you in navy and baby blue.

A big thank you as always to our valued club partners, including Data and AI Literacy Academy and Village Cricket Co. , whose continued support helps our teams compete across Worcestershire.
