Following on from last week’s away victory, we return to Sands Road this week to face local rivals Feckenham CC

With holidays hitting hard this week, there are a number of changes to the side which sees returns for Felton and Donnelly as well as the Reynolds duo.

With the return fixture earlier in the season being rained off, we are looking forward to the fixture, aiming to push on and finish the season strongly.

A fantastic all-round performance saw us come away with 20 points as we travelled over to Coombs Wood.

With the home skipper winning the toss, the Berrow were put into bat and despite losing early wickets the innings saw half centuries for Braddock and youngster Sultan and a century for skipper Eaton. Some late big hitting from Noble and Dale saw the Berrow post a formidable score of 303.

Early wickets fell in the chase for the home side with Dale, Hammersley and Sultan all chipping in to limit the chase. Some late resistance from one of the home sides lower order saw them pass 100 but late wickets from Tonks and youngster Freeman saw the game ended before second drinks.

A brilliant performance from the Berrow who were backed up in the field with 4 outstanding catches from Dale.

This week we head into the local derby with neighbours Feckenham with both sides looking for another victory.

After two consecutive defeats Inkberrow went on the road to play Coombs Wood. A fifth consecutive lost toss meant Inkberrow were put into bat needing to post a big score. After a couple of early wickets, Moin and Alistair Eaton stabilised the innings. Moin reached another quality 50 before being caught bringing Jim Braddock in, who scored a fifty and combined with Eaton to put on a hundred partnership. Skipper Eaton finished 118 not out and flurry of runs in the last few overs from Greg Dale and Russ Noble set a challenging score of 303.

Greg Dale took the new ball and castled the opening batsmen with the 5th ball and Inkberrow never looked back. Dale took 2 wickets and 4 catches, Gary Hammersley, Moin and Arlo Freeman all pitched in with 2 wickets as Inkberrow disassembled the Coombs Wood batting line up and bowled them out for 115 in 28 overs.

An excellent performance all round and a valuable 20 points!

We welcome Feckenham Cricket Club to Sands Road next week for a local derby.

This Friday, we welcome The Associates Band to the Berrow for a spot of live music.

Our very own Flembo will be on the BBQ so if you fancy a beer and a burger, get yourself to Sands Road on Friday evening!!

This Saturday we welcome title chasing Oldswinford Cricket Club to the Berrow in what promises to be an entertaining game.

With the summer holidays affecting team selection, we welcome back Beckley and Tonks as well as youngster Dale and experienced duo Freeman and Braddock.

This Friday we have sisters_fish_chips at sands Road Sporting Club Inkberrow , feel free to have a pint (other drinks are available) at our fully stocked bar and watch some junior training at Inkberrow Cricket Club or just collect a takeaway.

Saturday, the Berrow continued their winning run with a hard fought victory against promotion chasing Highley CC.

The Berrow headed into bat and got off to a fantastic start thanks to Fleming and Moin who put on over 200 between them. Youngster Moin ending up with a fantastic century and was supported well at the end by skipper Eaton and big hitter Read setting a challenging 295 for the away side.

Highley started off the chase well but were always having to push with the run rate climbing to above 10 for the last 15 overs. Some excellent bowling from Dale started off the innings well for the Berrow and you fester Moin again contributed well with the ball. Despite a late push with a couple of the away teams batters getting quick fire 50’s, it was Berrow who came away with a well deserved victory.

Next week brings an even tougher test with league leaders Oldswinford heading over to Sands Road.

Huge game tomorrow at the Berrow as we welcome in form side Highley Cricket Club

A number of players return to the side after missing out in last weeks victory over Cookley, with Johnson, Reynolds, Freeman and Felton coming in.

A big moment for the club with 4 juniors set to appear in the starting team which demonstrates the pathway which is available at the club and how bright the future is looking!

The Berrow made it back to back victories with a convincing win to complete the double for the season over Cookley.

Having put themselves into bat, Cookley made a steady start getting themselves over the 100 mark for the loss of a couple of wickets. A late collapse saw Beckley and youngster Moin pick up 7 wickets between them and Berrow were set 165 to win.

A nervous start to the chase saw Fleming fall first ball and Davis followed not long after. Braddock got himself in but fell shortly after leaving Eaton and Moin at the crease. Both batted very well and never really looked under threat. Eaton bought up his 50 which was then followed by some cracking shots from youngster Moin who saw us over the line with 15 plus overs to spare.

A brilliant opportunity again for one of our juniors to step up to experience senior cricket proving that the pathway is there for these players to continue to develop.
