🌊 MEET YOUR OCTOBER ELITE CAMP COACHES 🌊

The team behind this year’s Elite Camp is stacked. Experience, passion, and serious swim knowledge, all in one place, ready to push your swimmer further this October👇

🏅 Adam Ruckwood — Head Coach

Adam spent 20 years as a high performance coach, with 8 years as Head Coach of City of Birmingham Swimming Club and then 12 years as Head Coach of City of Coventry Swimming Club. During that time he coached 19 International swimmers who won medals at Commonwealth Games, European Championships, World University Games, World Junior Championships, European Junior Championships, European Youth Olympics and World School Games. From 2014 to 2021 Adam coached Lauren Cox, the current European Champion over 100m Backstroke. During his own swimming career, Adam swam for Great Britain at 3x Olympic Games in 1992, 1996 and 2000. He won Gold in the 200m Backstroke at the 1994 Commonwealth Games as well as numerous other medals at Commonwealth Games and European Championships.

🏊‍♀️ Lisa Bates — Assistant Coach

Lisa’s thrilled to be meeting your swimmers and keen to pass over as much knowledge as possible. A prominent figure within the Aquatics GB set up, Lisa was selected as Team GB coach for the 2021 and 2024 Olympics and Team England Coach for the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. Now coach to Olympic Champion and World Record holder Adam Peaty, she has a wealth of experience in elite swimming.

🐬 Ian Armiger — Assistant Coach

Quite simply a legend of the swimming world, we are delighted to announce your swimmers will have the privilege of being coached by lan Armiger during the week. Former Director of Swimming for Loughborough University and GB Head Coach, lan has placed swimmers on 6 Olympic Teams and was one of the coaches behind the success of Energy Standard during the ISL seasons. His energy and enthusiasm for swimming is remarkable and his depth of knowledge invaluable. lan returns after making an appearance at our 2024 Elite Camp and cannot wait to get started again!

🧜🏽‍♂️Euan Gumbrell — Assistant Coach

A staple figure of MMSI camps for the last 10 years, Euan has made the journey from MMSI Swimmer to Team Leader
