Club Statement

As we approach the latter end of the season I think it’s appropriate to advise on some changes as we move to towards the end of the 2026 Season and begin to look forward to 2027.

I myself James Irwin will be stepping down as Chair on Thursday 17th September due to my ongoing commitment to the greater Brodsworth Miners Welfare Scheme as Chair of the Charity Trustees and also my involvement as Director of The Iceman Foundation CIC. (I will release a personal statement at a future date with all the great projects we’re bringing to Woodlands).

David Merryweather will also step down from his roles as Head Coach and Ground person with immediate effect. Dave will concentrate on his own game for us! The wickets provided the last two years have been some of the best we’ve had in a long year! Thank you for the long and tedious hours of service on the playing surface and contribution to youth development a true Broddy legend 🙌🏻

Leo Irwin who has coached the U15’s to league success will also step down to due to work commitments and to concentrate on his own game at Upper Haugh CC. A club legend at 20yrs old, deserves all the accolades coming his way👏🏻

All positions above will be up for election by the members at the AGM following completion of the season, the committee will communicate as necessary.

We will celebrate what these guys have done for the club in their different capacities on Chairman’s night and at the end of season celebrations 🎉 🏏
