Bathgate Thistle 2013 Blacks

Thanks to Blue Brazil for hosting us this evening in what turned out to be a fantastic match. Both teams played with great spirit, and there was plenty of quality football on display.

Blue Brazil took an early lead and went into the halftime break 0–1 up. But credit to the boys as they battled back in the second half, showing real resilience to turn the game around.

Man of the Match goes to Mupfumi, whose attacking play caused problems for the defenders all evening. In a tightly contested match, he produced a moment of real quality, scoring an outstanding free kick to seal the victory. ⚽️👏

A brilliant morning for football, and before kick‑off a massive thank you to our ref and to Issac for stepping in with some top class DIY goal repairs. Proper team effort before a ball was even kicked.😂👏

This was our first meeting with West Lothian Community Blacks, and it turned into a cracking contest, with both sides playing some excellent football throughout.

West Lothian Community Blacks took an early lead with a well timed ball over the top and a composed finish.

Our boys reacted exactly how we’d wanted them too with their heads up, playing positive football, moving the ball quickly and getting back to our style with sharp passing and clever movement.

In the end, it’s another three points secured and a strong, confident performance from the lads.

There were so many strong candidates all over the pitch so picking a man of the match today was a challenging task.

Our match of match this morning was Zac for his constant pressing, passing and four fantastic goals. Well done Zac 😃👏

This weekend, we enjoyed a highly competitive match against our local friends and rivals, Bathgate Thistle Whites.

The game certainly lived up to the hype, with plenty of energy, passion and quality football on display from both sides. It was a great contest, played in the right spirit, with both teams battling hard from start to finish.

Another strong performance from the boys saw us secure all three points, while also recording back-to-back clean sheets. A fantastic effort from all the boys👏

What a weekend of football in Newcastle.

The boys played their socks off across seven competitive matches. They worked hard for one another, played as the brilliant team they are, and didn’t let the torrential downpours get in the way of giving it their all.

🖤 We are incredibly proud of their work ethic, attitude and commitment against fantastic opposition. Well done to all the participating teams, and thank you to Newcastle International Summer Cup for putting on such a brilliant weekend of football.

We might not be bringing home silverware this time round, but that’s not what it’s about. More important than results was the time the boys spent together off the pitch – team dinners, bowling, pool, darts, walks along the Quayside, and plenty of ice cream! It’s all those moments that make a team a team, and they should be hugely proud of everything they achieved together.
