We’re currently recruiting Casual Centre Team Members to support our busy activity centre. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, being outdoors, and being part of an energetic team.

What you’ll be doing:

* Welcoming and supporting visiting groups (including schools and youth organisations)
* Assisting with outdoor activities and sessions
* Helping maintain a safe and clean environment across the centre
* Working as part of a friendly, supportive team

We provide exciting outdoor and educational experiences that help young people build confidence, learn new skills, and enjoy adventure. Based on 19 acres of beautiful fields and forest, we welcome visitors from across the North East and beyond.

🎯 What You’ll Be Doing
• Leading fun and engaging outdoor activity sessions
• Supervising groups and ensuring safety at all times
• Maintaining and checking activity equipment
• Supporting the development of our activity programmes
• Carrying out general maintenance and site upkeep
• Groundskeeping (grass cutting, strimming, hedge trimming)
• Helping prepare the site for visiting groups and events

💪 What We’re Looking For
• Passion for working with young people outdoors
• Self-motivated and adaptable approach to work
• Physically fit and comfortable working in all weather
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Full UK driving licence (essential)

• Ensuring a safe environment for all visitors

👷 What We’re Looking For
• Practical maintenance or trade experience (desirable)
• Ability to work independently and solve problems
• Physically fit and happy working outdoors
• Full UK driving licence (essential)

🌱 Bonus Opportunity

This is an administrative and compliance-focused position — perfect for someone who enjoys organisation and keeping systems in order. You’ll be responsible for:
• Scheduling and tracking statutory checks (fire alarms, water testing, etc.)
• Managing risk assessments and compliance documentation
• Keeping accurate maintenance and inspection records
• Coordinating contractors and ensuring paperwork is complete
• Carrying out weekly site safety walk-arounds
• Supporting occasional events (including some evenings/weekends)

👩‍💼 What We’re Looking For
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Experience in admin, facilities, or compliance (desirable)
• Confident using Microsoft Office and learning new systems
• Ability to work independently and manage your workload

🌱 Bonus Opportunity
We’re also recruiting a Part-Time Maintenance Operative (24 hrs/week) — and for the right candidate, both roles could be combined into a full-time position (40 hrs/week)!

At Moor House Adventure Centre we have expanded beyond just the big dorm-style accommodation and camping. We now offer smaller, more flexible overnight options for people who don’t need the full main building, Or may require this as additional to the main accommodation.

Our smaller accommodation sleeps 17 people comfortably in bunk beds and includes:

3 bedrooms
A dining room
A fully equipped kitchen
An upstairs shower room
A downstairs toilet

It offers a comfortable, self-contained space ideal for smaller groups.

We have a lot of availability for out new Bunk House and can not wait for you to stay with us.
