Sam Lobban 7s ๐Ÿ‰

A massive effort on a hot Saturday afternoon from the Dyce 7s team. We came up against some seriously well-drilled sides in a tough pool, exiting at the group stage after hard-fought matches against Aberdeen Leavers, Aberdeen Grammar Rugby , and Westhill Academy.

Naturally, the post-match cool downs and pre-match warm ups consisted entirely of beers and burgers from the BBQ. ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿ”

An incredible event for such a good cause. Congratulations to the organisers and the many faces that put on this tournament year after year. Thanks for having us! ๐Ÿค The Sam Lobban Trophy

Another big thank you to our guest players and their respective clubs.

On the field there was a sight for sore eyes seeing Danny Macgregor back on the pitch after a long season out with injuryโ€”and he marked his return in style by bagging a try. ๐Ÿ‘

Graeme Johnston also bagged a try on the day after some good support play. Since arriving at the club, Graeme has been putting in some solid performances and Saturday was no different. ๐Ÿ‘

Itโ€™s been great for Dyce RFC to work closely with Aberdeen Wanderers RFC throughout this season, building a strong relationship between both clubs on and off the pitch. ๐Ÿค

A special mention to Wanderers for inviting some of our players to take part in their Scotland v Rest of the World end-of-season game โ€” a great experience for everyone involved.

Our Head Coach Jonny and Club President Alan also had the pleasure of attending Wanderersโ€™ 98th Annual End of Season Dinner. It was an excellent opportunity to reflect on both clubsโ€™ seasons, hear more about the great work going on at Wanderers as they approach their centenary year, and discuss rugby in a wider sense across the North East Scotland community.

We look forward to continuing to build on the relationship between both clubs in the seasons ahead. ๐Ÿ‰

Congratulations to Sean Broadley and Cameron McIntosh, representing Dyce at the annual Boxing Day match between Aberdeen Select and Aberdeen Exiles. Another win for the Exiles but the Select giving a good account of themselves ๐Ÿ‰

Many thanks go to the organisers who work tirelessly each year to keep this festive tradition alive ๐Ÿ‘

Great to see the Aberdeen rugby community coming together . A huge thank you to our friends at Aberdeen Wanderers RFC, Aberdeen Grammar Rugby, Aberdeenshire Rugby Football Club and Gordonian RFC for their continued partnership in this tradition.
