π Member of the Month π
π
Sue Currie π
(swipe to see the moment we surprised her with this well deserved award!)
Sue is a rowing Queen turned Weight Lifting Machine who has won the Member of the Month title π and a delicious prize - One of the famous Family Pieβs from Fox & Co. Caterers Edinburgh's West End π₯§ πͺπΌ
Sue joined Gym on the Square in February 2025 with the goal of improving her bone health following an osteoporosis diagnosis.
Research confirms that weight-bearing exercise and strength training helps stimulate bone growth, maintain bone density and build the muscle strength needed to support and protect our bones as we age. π¦΄πͺπΌ
With a background in rowing, Sue was no stranger to physical activity, but strength training in a gym environment was completely new to her.
Since joining, she has embraced the challenge, learning new movements, building confidence and developing excellent technique along the way. ππ½ββοΈπ₯
Sue attends
- Small Group PT sessions 2x per week
- Our weekly Stretch for Success session
- Our monthly community event / social
She is a brilliant example of what weβre building here at Gym on the Square.
A community of supportive, like-minded people who want to get stronger, move better and enjoy the process together. ππΌ
Sueβs consistency, positive attitude and willingness to step outside her comfort zone have been fantastic to see.
Well done, Sue. This recognition is thoroughly deserved. Keep being amazing! πͺπΌπ₯ππ½ββοΈ

Both charities mean a lot to us and our members who have directly or indirectly benefited from the support they provide.
Over the last few years weβve been proud to support fundraising and awareness efforts in different ways.
