Milestones w/e 19th July 2026
Close but no cigar (non-tobacco alternatives are available) goes to Oli Robertson for his 4/19 in the Braw Skelp vs Accies.
Donny - It's a Donny world and we're just living in it. Another amazing performance from him. This time vs Arbroath.
Oli Hairs - whacks it, whacks it some more. Offers you a better platform than platform 9 3/4. 110 from not many at all.
Emily Tucker - the mainstay and shining light of the women's team vs RHC Lynx. A stones throw from 3 figures. Obligatory to mention a Tucker in the socials each week.
Tiaan Kuhn - Donny's partner in crime/partner in Prestwick night clubs with a very quickfire 81* . Taking the game away from Arbroath hitting some bombs.
Duncan Robinson - the 4s run machine strikes again. Taking the 4s to another victory in a run chase. If we had ESCA fantasy cricket, he'd be in my team.
Vishal Chawan - one of Jaideep's key lieutenants strikes again. 51 not out, steering the 3s to another victory. Another impressive all round performance
Well done everyone
Frogbox Highlight of the Week
Is it a bird, is it a plane? No, it's a violently dipping ball from G.Carr.
Peak EPL dismissal the knee high full toss.
Some days cricket is just a bit crap sport. Some days Mother cricket just hates you and wants you to sit in a corner staring at the wall, wondering what you're doing with your weekends.

I'm drinking coffee number 1 as we speak, brain doesn't work, I've used autocorrect on everything I've typed. Strong start.
1s - such big numbers! A huge Myreside win in the sun vs Arbroath. Oli hit 110 off 46 balls, which you'd say is a handy way to start the innings. Donny and his tache hit a mammoth 140 from 117, some of which in a 161 run partnership with Tiaan, who clocked 81 from 56. 2 Wickets apiece for Tiaan, Donny, G & Cal. Abid with his first EPL wicket too. All led to a 173 run victory. One of Gs wickets might pop up on FHOTW.
Women - Fill in got 2 wickets. Sorry to whoever F. In was but here is your shoutout. Anne & Rosie wickets & Kirsty kept it under a run a ball. A spirited 83 from 57 by Emily Tucker kept them above the RRR but lack of partners meant they fell short by 98.
2s - Braw Skelpage on Tuesday. DK, Pranjan and Rohan hit quick 20s (the latter hitting his 1st ball for 6. Aura). E.Xtras helped out with another quick 20. Oli Rob was class with 4fer Abid 1/16 from 4. Some interesting fielding got it a bit closer than it should but a comfortable win.
Big win vs DAFS on Saturday. A deck that Resolva w**d killer could do with sponsoring. Tight bowling & wickets shared. Very good grabs from Kev & DK too. GB & Oli Rob opened batting & bowling. Who are the skippers favourites? Opening stand of 40ish sealed it. Before a locked-in Coxy willed everyone to go with him and win the game.
3s - the win machine rolls on. Insanely tight bowling led by Vikash restricted Carlton to 103 from their 40 overs. 6 for 18 between Jai & Vikash. Watsonians never do easy run chases, Rohan whacked a few and despite a couple of hiccups, Vishal was there blasting a quick fire 51* to seal another win.
4s - similar story in the 4s. Very tight bowling, great 3fer from Kyle and wickets shared round. Huge occasion of a first league wicket for the Hurricane. Wandies. Duncan did his thing and scores runs & wins games. What a man. 4s very 3rd.
5s - bit of a copy paste job. Wickets shared, bowling first. 2fers for ALL. An anchored 33* from Kyle, quick fire 36 from Dawlatzai & a handsome 22 from Jamie Stevenson ealed the win.

A few folks were close but no cigar. Shoutouts to:
Donny Du Randt for his 4fer vs Forfarshire in the EPL
Evan Howe for two 4fers in the week, one vs Drummond in the Braw Skelp & one vs Stew Mel for the 3s
John Boothman for his game changing & quick fire 48 for the 2s vs RHC
Rohan for his quick fire 48 for the 4s
And Charlotte Nevard for her 40 vs East Kilbride in the WPL.
Dan Kirk - 110 not out from 71 balls vs Drummond Trinity in the Braw Skelp in an unbeaten 182 run opening partnership with George Baltzer. 10 fours and 4 sixes. Only moderately distraught Froggy wasn't streaming for it. That's DK's 2nd Watsonian 100, 13th overall & the 70th 50+ score of his 'career'. A way to mark 20 years since his 1st 100. This author knows his stats, funny that. The poor lad was shattered with all that running & hitting 6s is tiring work, after a long working day for a balding 34-year-old.
Laurie Cox - 79 not out from 107 balls, over 50% of the team runs in a 10-run victory vs Stew Mel 3s. Game changing innings. Extras was the next highest score. Came in at 20-2, was out at 147-9. Another example of a 3s player stepping up & getting the team over the line. No doubt lots of 'energetic' cricket was on show, just hopefully no burping when the bowler was running in.
George Baltzer - 56* from 54 balls in the 182-run partnership with DK. GB really should hit more 4s and run less, because he was the sweatiest man in Scotland on Thursday evening. Ran the old man DK ragged with far too many 1s and 2s. His 2nd 50 of the season(pretty sure), to go alongside his 100 vs the Forty Club for StrikeRate Coaching CC in the week too.
Well done everyone

Who doesn't just love playing cricket in the fog.
1s - Forfs away is usually found filed under 'notoriously difficult away trip'. Saturday was no different. The attack led wonderfully as usual by Donny with 4/49 & nicely supported by Ozzy with 3fer. But all went for 5-6per over & only 1 maiden meant Forfs kept ticking the scoring over. Bowled out, nonetheless, for 248. The reply didn't start great, then didn't get a lot better from there. Props to Salman for his 38* & some Geordie spirit.
Women's XI - like a reverse Uno card from 2025. East Kilbride amassed a quite handy score that not even the super powers of Charlotte Nevard's batting could overcome. Rosie took 2fer, Anne & Abby 1 each. Charlotte got a score with 40, Anne & Tessa with 20s each.
2s Braw Skelp - what tense do I write in here again? DK & GB causing serious pad rash for the rest of the lads. DK with a 71 ball 110* and GB 56* from 54 batted all 20. A handy partnership.
Abid was somehow wicketless, Oli Rob a miserly 2/13 but we actually saw Evan Howe smile - picking up 4/21!
2s are back on a league winning streak too with victory over RHC. Bowling first with a wet ball & slippy outfield, was a great effort to keep RHC to a sub-par score. Led by Ross Tait with 2/16 from 9. Beej anchored, DK counter attacked but John Boothman with a superb 48 swung the game to give Ross Tait time to whack a few at the end to put the 2s back up in the top 3.
3s - A WINNING MACHINE. Another 3s win with many stepping up. Coxy was the main man with the bat, a match winning innings in the context. 79*, with next highest score being E.Xtras. Evan led with way with his 2nd 4fer of the week. SMILES ALL AROUND. Vishal with 3/13 from 8 was vital to the 3s close win. 11 from 12 and a 51 point gap to 2nd place.
4s - A superb win for the 4s on Sunday. Solidifying 3rd place and putting pressure on the top 2. Jebran & Dawlatzai were lethal with the new ball 5/36 from their 12. Jamie Stevenson with a picture perfect 3/22 as well. Like many 4s run chases - Rohan hit bombs, it was all done in 10mins and everyone got a beer. Job done.
Well done everyone

Thrilling footage from the Watsonian 2s vs RHC 2s game on Saturday. A big thanks to the randomness of a Scottish summer.

Week results 4th July 2026
Got be speedy, used most of my lunch break on this.
1s - BIG WIN. Following the 3s methodology of winning before 5pm. Spearheaded by the skipper with a brilliant 5for35. Including the prized wicket of McMullen. Ably supported by Tiaan. Oli & Donny then set about knocking the score off with plenty of time to spare.
2s - THE BAREST OF MARGINS. Super bowling effort by all to bowl out Tranent for 81. Led by Abid & Oli Rob with the new ball. Rory a customary cheap 2fer. Not wanting to make a job straightforward the 2s set about trying to bowl themselves out for under 100 for the 3rd week in a row. Boothman looked class by the way. But it was the best 10 not out you'll ever see from Abid (and Ben Hogg going Jack Leach mode) to see the 2s to a squeaky win.
Got pumped in the Braw Skelp on Tuesday 30th. DK the only batter to get past 20 and score quicker than a run a ball. Falling short again of a 50. Only Hamish Tucker could hold his head high with his 4 over spell. Pants bowling but it meant the lads got it out their system and bowled well on Saturday.
3s - Not sure when this game finished but imagine it was past 5pm. Hamish Tucker, THE TUCKER DYNASTY LIVES ON, with his first 3s 5 wicket haul. A slightly larger target to chase then planned, but not that it mattered. Vishal & Coxy both got quick 40s. But Patrick Crunden was the start with a red ink 58 from 45 balls to notch up another 3s win. 10 wins from 11.
4s - No Duncan, no Pranjan Duncan - no party. A hefty total to chase, with only Magic, Kyle & Toby going under 5 an over. Loukis & Dawlatzai got 2 wickets each. Run chase didn't start great with Fraser out 2nd ball. Plenty of starts from Matty B, Lochlan, Loukis and Toby but no big score to threaten Grange's 231. 4s fell short by 45 runs.
