Watsonians Rugby can confirm that Richard Snedden will be stepping down from his coaching role with the Men’s 1XV.
Snedden joined the club in 2018 following his playing retirement at Currie, initially partnering with Steve Lawrie to return Watsonians to the peak of the Scottish club game. He later transitioned into the Super 6 setup as Defence Coach, where he helped secure the championship title in a memorable final at the Hive against Ayr.
Over the past two seasons, Richard helped guide the 1XV to a Premiership final last year, a Top 4 finish this season, as well as successfully mentoring the club's emerging young talent.
Everyone at Watsonians Rugby Club extends their deepest gratitude to Sneddz for his incredible service, leadership, and impact on our players, and we wish him and his family the very best for the future.

This Volunteer's Week, we would like to take the time to show our appreciation to the countless volunteers of past and present who help to create the opportunity for our players to pull on the famous maroon and white stripes of Watsonian Football Club.
From the parents giving up their weekends for our Warriors and Wildcats, to the members working the gate on a Saturday afternoon at Myreside and everybody who gives up their time to help our club grow from strength to strength every day.
Without volunteers, our 150-year history would change completely, and we would like you to join us in thanking every Watsonian volunteer for their contributions to the club.

Tomorrow we take to the field at Melrose 7s with more than just pride in the jersey.
As we celebrate the memory of Scott Hastings, the number 13 will sit proudly on the front of our shirts this weekend — a tribute to a true rugby legend and someone who meant so much to the game and to so many people.
This squad is ready for battle. Ready to represent. Ready to honour that legacy the best way we know how.
See you in Melrose.

A special tribute ahead of Melrose 7s this weekend.
In honour of Scott Hastings, we’ve added the number 13 to the front of our Watsonian FC 7s shirt — recognising one of the club’s most iconic players and celebrating his incredible contribution to Scottish rugby.
The number holds a special place in rugby history, and we’re proud to carry it onto the pitch this weekend at Melrose.
A huge thank you to for helping us add the tribute to the shirts in time for the tournament.

Everyone at Watsonian Football Club is devastated by the tragic passing of Scott Hastings, a true great of world rugby, who put the same passion and energy into Watsonians as he did his stellar international career.
He was hugely important to our 150th anniversary celebrations last year, organising commemorative shirts, producing the book of the club's history and starring at the dinner in November.
We knew he was unwell, but he remained optimistic and enthusiastic at all times, and was a true inspiration in everything he did.
Our deepest condolences and love are with his children Corey and Kerry-Anne and all the Hastings family at this saddest of times.
Scott is simply irreplaceable.
